Gallic ear candy, December 29, 2006
This review is from: Rinocerose (Audio CD)
This album is one of my suprise favorites of the year. I previously heard Rinôçérôse when the song "La Guitaristic House Organisation" was on a VW commercial in 2000. I didn't really look into them again until I saw they had this compilation out. I ended up getting it and being pleasantly suprised. If you like Daft Punk, then you'll find plenty to like with Rinôçérôse.
The music, in general, is highly polished guitar driven house. However, they go all over the place as far as the kind of music they make- from slow dubs, to funk, screaming rock (The Cubicle Song), to juicy French house. All in all, they manage to keep their own unique sound, and not be a rip off of any one artist.
They are, in my opinion, very underrated and are really deserving of much more exposure.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Rinocerose (Audio CD)
It seems to be a sort of disco/rock genre that is definitely entertaining. If you liked the piece of "Cubicle" you hear on the commercial then you'll probably like the rest of the album (and the rest of the song). Help this band get more popular and buy this CD! It's really good.

Cool record, June 10, 2006
This review is from: Rinocerose (Audio CD)
I heard this band a few years ago. It was the end of the 1990s, and a bunch of odd techno bands came out. Even Moby was a big act back then. Rinocerose, or however you spell it, really stood out. This release is like a greatest hits. "Bitch" is a cool new song. I think the first song I heard by them was "La Guitaristic House Organisation." This song is still as fresh as ever. It still jams. They were always about guitars and beats together in a new way. They sort of paved the way for bands like Ratatat and LCD Soundsystem. This is a great collection.
