The Wonder Wheeler Wide from Rio Beach is an all-terrain cart designed to provide a hassle-free way carry heavy loads to and from the beach. Using the same technology as a baby stroller, the Wonder Wheeler has an extended push or pull handle with a neoprene grip for comfort. Outfitted with extra wide, 10-inch diameter rear wheels, the Wonder Wheeler cart offers the floatation required to pull a load over soft sand and bumpy paths. Meanwhile, the 4.5-inch diameter front wheels make pushing and navigating smooth paths and roadways easier. It took me like 2 weeks to use it cause I was afraid it wouldn't work and I'd be stuck in the sand alone with all my stuff. Not the case, I live two blocks from the beach on Miami Beach and it has made my life so much easier. I hate paying $20. for a chair and an umbrella which is the fee most hotel's charge non guest to use the chairs and umbrellas on the beach. The rio beach cart has given me the ability to avoid that completely by being able to bring my own chair and umbrella comfortably with me to the beach. It rolls like a stroller, when you get to the sand you just tilt it a bit and pull instead of pushing it. Overall I think its awesome. It was also very simple to put together and arrived quickly. I'm a woman in my early 30's who is 5'2" and weighs 140 pounds just to give you a picture idea of my strength or overall ability to lift and carry stuff. I didn't sweat a bunch using it. I now bring a beach bag,an umbrella, a chair or two, and a lunch cooler all to the beach with me. It can actually carry more stuff but its just me or me and a friend so its all I need. This was awesome at the Outer Banks this past week. I carried 4 chairs, 5 towels, a cooler, books, boogie boards, umbrella, sunblock, a tent, and other stuff to the beach alone. You have to pull it in the sand, not push. Everyone loved it. Since I always get stuck carrying everything I really loved it. I would recommend this to anyone with kids or who likes to bring everything to the beach.

Excellent for the beach, which is why I bought it. Big wheels make a difference. So, if you are trying to decide between larger or smaller wheels, pay a little more for the larger wheels. My only issue so far is that it is a bit awkward to fold down (like a stroller).

I'm not sure what the other reviewers were carrying, but unless the sand is as hard a concrete, this thing is WORTHLESS!!! Even worse, you probably expend more energy dragging it through the sand than it would take to just carry your things. Even almost empty, it took significant effort to pull it through the Jersey shore sands- all the while we watched folks with the big air filled wheels glide right past us with almost no effort. I am going to try to fit the air wheels on this cart - failing that, it goes to the dump.

We live in the Delaware coastal region and had bought a beach cart at a big box store that had small rear wheels and only posts in front. It was terrible. So I found this exact cart on Amazon and we decided to invest in it. You will notice a vinyl or plastic tray at the bottom. We are able to place large to medium sized cooler on this shelf, place several towels, beach bag or other "stuff" inside the net bag. It has a side sash for one umbrella. We are able to hang three Rio beach chairs on the front. What I really like about this particular cart is the detachable beach bag that hangs from grommets and it is very handy for various bric a brac we lug at the beach. In so many words, we have loaded this baby down pretty well and have had this cart two years with out a tear or rip. We go to the beach almost every weekend with it. Sand conditions will determine how easy this is to pull. Normally I push it on the boardwalk entry of Cape Henlopen State Park, and then drag it behind me to more firmer sand nearer the water. Sometimes I can push it on the sand at this location but normally I resort to pulling it behind me. My husband carries a very large wooden umbrella and a beach table. As a female, I have no difficulty tugging this cart behind me. I see one person from the Jersey shore said it was useless in the sand- if he did what I did and pull it in wetter/firmer sand he would realize how helpful this cart really is. I see them proliferating all over the beach now - word is spreading. This model has the necessary wide sand wheels. It folds easily for storage. Well worth the money (and best price is at Amazon!!!)

The front wheels are not sturdy enough for half the amount of stuff it is advertized to be able to carry. The umbrella holder is installed RIGHT next to the wheel and rubs when you wheel it. It's already breaking. The worst part is I saw the same thing in BJ's for $40 right after we purchased it for $84 from Amazon.

My large family owns a beach home a block away from the beach in Maine and we lug a lot of stuff for a day at the beach. We've used a Wonder Wheeler for the last 6 years and have found it tremendously helpful.

The metal support bar that connects the back frame together finally rusted off and I went looking for a replacement.

What has improved in the last six years?

- The back wheels are wider and easier to turn and to drag over the sand. However, they are plastic compared to the old rubber ones so it sounds like a Big Wheel going over asphalt.

-- There is a useful bag-like attachment that goes in the otherwise wasted space under the handle. We put 6 towels in there. The bag has smaller outside pockets that are perfect for shells the kids collect or for sunglasses/phones/etc.

-- The frame feels more substantial. There is less sway to the cart.

-- The front bar seems a tad longer and slanted more, which allows us to load one more chair (total of five) on the front.

Why did I take away a star?

-- The top metal frame that opens to the mesh area is smaller than on the old Wonder Wheeler, which doesn't allow us to put our hand-held Igloo cooler in. We now have to lug that heavy cooler by hand.

-- The handle only has padding in the center 6 inches, whereas the old model had padding stretched across the entire length of the handle. The new one just doesn't make sense. To push the cart in a straight line, you need to have your hands on the far left and far right of the handle. If you were to keep your hands on the padding, you wouldn't be able to steer the cart.

Overall 4 stars. A quality purchase that is a great help to our summer beach time.
