I bought this to go on my riding lawnmower. It blocks the sun quite a bit more than my older beach umbrellas & the stand is also sturdier. I also mounted a misting head in the umbrella, which is wonderful but makes it hard to smoke cigars while mowing and gets water in my beer. Perhaps they should manufacture a "deep south" version with a second smaller umbrella mounted further down the pole for covering male mowing accouterments. All seriousness aside, this is a fine umbrella.

Somewhat durable, but don't expect longevity.,

This umbrella is decent. The construction is somewhat solid, and the fabric used for the umbrella seems durable. It provides decent shade, but you can still see the sun shining through the fabric a little. I've never been sun burnt sitting under it, I just like to nit pick. It's been with me through several festivals with a bit of wear. The cone on the bottom pole came off immediately, but I suppose that it was meant to be inserted into soft sand rather than thick soil. The umbrella pole even comes in half so that it can fit into smaller spaces better.Update 1/28/11: It still works well. |
