A must for the beach,
By Rollie (San Jose) - See all my reviews ---------------------------------------------------------- (Three years later) Still working great. I took a group to a picnic the other day. I stacked the wonder wheeler with 6 chairs, two folding tables and a bag of food and other items. No problem. The kids fought over who got to push the cart.

I recently purchased the 'Wonder Wheeler Deluxe Beach Utility Cart' after carrying all of our stuff to the beach each day, for a week, on a trip to Hilton Head, SC. I saw someone on the beach with one, and checked Amazon when I got home.
I wanted my rating to show 5 solid stars because for me it's "a fun toy" and it may not be educational per say, but it's showing my kids how to be organized. So I gave it 5 stars in every category. We live in a community with a pool and the kids are eager to carry everything to the pool - but mom always carries it home. So it's perfect to haul pool toys, towels, suntan lotion, a cooler, first aid kit, magazines, etc. It also has a removable bag that you can take if you need to leave the cart behind to use a restroom or whatever. Then I took it to our local amusement park that has a water park in it, and I was able to store all of the kids towels, gear, shoes, etc. While I was there I had 3-4 people ask me where I got it. It's a must for a trip to the beach. It's lightweight, durable, and has many uses. It does fold up, but I have used it so much that I haven't even stored it yet!

Love it--but it has two flaws that can be a problem,

Last summer I was looking for a rolling bag big enough to lug stuff around amusement and water parks. We are a family of four, and I have an autistic child so we tend to carry much more around with us than we need in anticipation of everything. We usually have to carry double the towels, extra changes of clothes and shoes and in an amusement park setting where getting snacks for my son can be difficult, I have to carry all of his drinks and snacks. When my son was still in a stroller this was doable but difficult as it weighed down the stroller. Once he was out of a stroller my husband and I were lugging all this stuff around, and it was getting ridiculous. I saw the Wonder Wheeler in Bed, Bath and Beyond and immediately thought it would be the answer to our prayers. They were out, but I was so desparate I bought the display model. This item has literally saved our vacations. We spend most of our summer at amusement parks and water parks and the Wonder Wheeler makes our time enjoyable rather than cumbersome. It is the best idea on the market for parents who have to lug items around with them. I haven't even had it a year and I've used to countless times. We even took it to Disney and it made our lives so much easier. I can't imagine what I ever did without it. It's great for anyone who carries towels and beach gear to tons of stuff. I've been asked so many times where I got it, and I've never regretted buying it. It even folds up like a stroller if you have to take it on a bus or shuttle (i.e. Disney).
There are only two flaws in it that can be a problem. First, there is no brake, so if you have to leave the cart you have to make sure it is on a completely flat surface or find a place to set it against if you are on an incline. Its gotten away from me a few times, and with so much in it, it rolls away pretty quickly. Also, because we use it so often and folded it open and closed many times, the mesh bag has rips in a few places. At first I thought, no problem, I'll just order a new bag. But on closer inspection we found that the bag is not removable--it is rivited to the carrier. I have done my best to sew patchees to the rips in the net, but I'm afraid one more summer and it is going to have to be replaced, and that is a shame after spending $60 on it to have to replace the whole thing just for the mesh bag which should be an easily replaceable item. I have a call into the company, but so far have not heard back. Even with those two problems though, and even if I have to replace it after this coming summer, I'm still glad I bought it and will eagerly purchase a new one if I have to, that's how "worth it" this product is.

Won't change your world, but will change your beach visit,
Let's be honest here. You are still dragging this cart through soft sand and it is hard work. But, it is a lot easier than any other option. I am impressed by how helpful this little cart was (just used it at the beach today). We got all kinds of gear into and onto it and we were the best-equipped people on the beach. Going through the soft, dry sand was pretty hard, but not as hard as holding all the gear or trying to push/pull any other wheeled object through sand. Still, next time I'll take the most direct route to the wet sand, which is significantly easier to walk on, and then walk along the wet sand to find my perfect lounging beach spot.
It was very easy to assemble and did not require any tools.

Great cart but watch the weight limits,

I loved this cart. I use it mostly at child clothing/toy consignment sales. I need another because my first one wore out. The rear axle cut right through the frame and it collapsed on me. The frame is thin tube aluminum, which adds to it being lightweight, but subtracts from the overall use-ability and quality of the item. Unfortunately Wonder Wheeler has no competition. So I will buy another and treat it as disposable. I don't think I consistently over loaded it, but without a scale to roll it on to I cannot be sure. But pay attention that it should not carry over 75 pounds. They mean it.

Faulty Product,

I have bought many products on Amazon with great success and have never taken the time to write a review. However, this is a badly designed product as both front wheels broke off after only using it 3 times. If you go onto Rio Brands web site, you will see that the customer service is zero. Buyer beware.

Good quality, superior function,
By R.P.D. "digital ad man" (New York City) - See all my reviews As far a quality, mine has held up with out fail under the strain of hauling everything on and off the beach daily. Most impressive, I have stacked the beach cart up to the top multiple times with quarter cut hardwood for bonfires. So far no noticeable weakening or failure of the pieces after 3 years of use. Also note: You can easily remove the large back wheels for a smaller folding and storage size.

Rio Beach Cart,

Pictured in the ad for the Beach cart was the Rio Deluxe Beach cart. When this product was what I though I was purchasing, it was in fact the Rio Plus Beach cart. The Rio plus is actually smaller than the deluxe and does not have the tote bag pictured by the handle or the umbrella holder pictured on the side.

I take my elderly mother to various music festivals in parks. She "needs" her own comfy chair, a cooler with drinks, her bookbag full of books, pillows, etc. I used to feel like a mule carrying all her stuff along with my own chair...for blocks in parks, etc. I LOVE this cart! I've used it about 15 days/year for the last few years. Even though mine is still functional....some of the plastic has cracked. It is a little flimsy and prone to break. That is why I just ordered a replacement. I can't imagine continuing to go to these festivals without this cart if it breaks. I want a back-up.
