Product Description

Rio Ferdinand is widely acknowledged as one of the most talented defenders in the world. His success on the pitch has been meteoric—including high drama in the Champions League, a World Cup, and a dramatic Premiership victory. If success on the pitch has kept Ferdinand on the back pages, his off-pitch story has made him a regular on the front pages. Here for the very first time, Ferdinand reveals all about his infamous missed drugs test, the controversies surrounding both his transfers, his supposed reluctance to re-sign for United in 2005, and various sex, driving, and anti-social behaviour scandals. Beyond the soccer, Ferdinand's personal story will fascinate.

About the Author

Born in Peckham, Ferdinand signed for West Ham as a schoolboy, turning professional at the age of 17. He debuted in May 1996 and played 158 games for the Hammers before transferring to Leeds United in November 2000, with whom he reached the Champions League semi-final in 2001. Following his star performance in the 2002 World Cup, he joined Manchester United. He made his England debut in March 1998 and has won 43 caps, scoring one vital goal in the 2002 World Cup.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hilarous and easy to read autobiography, March 8, 2007
By andrew (Mystic CT, USA) - See all my reviews
If you haven't ever read a soccer autobiography, this is a great place to start. A fast entertaining read filled with great english slang, and to the point style. You can tell that Rio was having fun telling these stories and isn't afraid to use a few swear words to get his point across. This isn't just a glossy childrens style soccer biography, its definately fun to read for adults also. I thoroghly reccomend this book. C'MON UNITED.
