This review is from: Carcassonne: The City (Toy)
This game is a stand alone (and not an expansion) in the same line as the other Carcassonne games. The tile laying is easier in that you only have to match roads. There are more ways to score however. At a certain point in the game you start building a wall with towers around the city using wooden pieces that come with the game. This adds a new dimension and makes the finished game fun to look at. The wooden box and cloth sacks for storage are very nice. I only wish there were expansions for this version of the game.
Scoring: Meeples are placed as merchants, citizens, stewards, and guards. Markets are scored by multiplying the number of different market types in the area by the number of tiles. Guards score points for every public building or landmark in their row. Stewards score like farmers with markets in place of cities. Citizens score points for roads built. |
