Everyone knows the cake rules: one person cuts, the other chooses. In this way, one makes the slices as equal as possible so that one does not end up with the short end. But this rule does not apply to “piece o´ Cake”. Here a person can cleverly offer larger pieces to the others and still get the most in the end. 5 cakes with 11 slices of different varieties are divided. Each variety awards a different amount of points. One can immediately eat slices to guarantee a number of points, or collect them in the hope of scoring bonus points for having the most of that variety at the end of the game. Only skilled dividers with an eye on their opponents’ pieces can score the most points and win the game.

This game was pretty fun - large brightly colored slices of cake get mixed up, divided into full cakes, and then delt out to the players. The types of cake you are delt give you different amounts of points, so you try to build the biggest "hand."
The rules were a bit confusing - there is a difference between a "slice" a "piece" and the whole "cake" but the "slice" and "piece" weren't well described. After we figured it out, it was literally a "piece of cake" to play, though strategies would have developed in time. One full game went quickly - 10 - 15 minutes with three adults playing. The rules say that this is a full game, but they go on to say that you can turn one game into just a round, and play many rounds to keep adding points. Had we more time, my friends and I would have played more "rounds" to extend the gameplay and develop stratigies to winning.
I enjoyed playing the game; it was pretty simple to play once the rules were understood. I also liked the bright colors and large game pieces. I didn't like that it was all "cake" though they really looked more like pies. Plus, the varieties of cakes were really weird - plum, gooseberry and apricot (which looked more like a peperoni pizza) were some of the weird cakes you built.
Overall, it was a fun game and while I probably wouldn't buy it for myself at $25, I would definitely play it again if a friend had it, or would buy it for $10 - $15.
