5.0 out of 5 stars sweet, March 4, 2005
This cd is packed full of varukers classics such as "what the hell do you know", "nowhere to go" and "march of the SAS" not to mention a rather....interesting cover of "Schools out". I suggest anyone who likes the earlier style of the Varukers buy this album immediately.

5.0 out of 5 stars THANX PUNKCORE !!!!, January 14, 2005
By JUAN MARTIN GABASTOU (Weston Hills, FL United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
For including no less than 2 full VARUKERS lps and two eps, which are hard to get ,in some cases vintage vinyl only, in a single cd.25 tracks of undiluted VARUKERS mayhem at a sweet price. This cd makes the expression "best bang for the buck" fall way short. In these era of exploitative reissues, this kind of generosity seems almost like charity !!
The cd opens with the DIE FOR YOUR GOVERNMENT 7''single,continues with the BLOODSUCKERS lp,both of which are pre-metally sounding, then we got the LED TO THE SLAUGHTER ep and ANOTHER RELIGION ANOTHER WAR mlp, both of wich start to strongly show the beautiful metallic hardcore sound these guys would embrace from there on.Sound is very good especially if we compare it with that of their latest release (no bass-no upper treble).Gorgeous vocals as usual, courtesy of Rat Martin and amazing, full on 2 guitar assault by the great Biff.GO FOR IT !!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Overrated, yet Underrated (3.5 stars), June 6, 2005
For those of you who are wondering about my title, I'll explain. This band never gets the credit that they deserve for starting "Stretpunk". In my opinion they are just as important to the scene as the Exploited or GBH. However, talking to some fans of them at school, it seems some treat these guys like gods. Basically the majority overlooks this band, but the people who don't overlook them like them a little too much.

Anyways, the songs are decent, and there are some classics on this collection, but for the most part, the songs seem to drag, and would be much better if cut in half. The problem is these guys are just too repetitive, and most of the songs sound the same. I'd reccomend the Exploited's "Punks not Dead", "Troops of Tomorrow", and "Best of", or GBH's Singles Collection before this anyday.

Despite all this, I actually kind of dig this band. Without them, there probably wouldn't be A Global Threat, Unseen, or Virus. And anybody who claims to love streetpunk and doesn't like "Die For Your Government", "All Systems Fail", "March of the SAS", or "Another Religion, Another War" should seriously get their heads examined.

If you are interested in the beginnings of Streetpunk, pick up a previously mentioned Exploited or GBH album. This is sure to please fans of both bands. Another way to get into this band is to picck up Punkcore Records "Pure Punk Rock" sampler, and check out the two songs on there. If you like those songs, you'll like this collection of The Varukers early days.
