5.0 out of 5 stars The ONE., September 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have several watches in my "collection" and this is THE ONE I chose to use everyday, since the very first day I got it. It does everything it says it does, the QUALITY of it is amazing, and the looks are great. The band has a lock at the end to secure it which works perfect. Yes, is not exactly cheaply priced, but is worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap time can cost you !, October 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After purchasing 2 watches form a competitor I had to return both of them due to "ROM FAIL". If you surf you will expose your watch to a hostile environment that cheaper watches cannot endure. First, if the strap restraint is insufficient you stand a good chance of having the ocean steal it from your wrist as a friend of mine experienced. Secondly, the enemy of a surf watch may not necessarily be water intrusion alone but rather a combination of water and "RADICAL surfing styles" as you tend to smack the water with your hand/wrist often. If you want an enduring piece of technology you owe it to yourself to spend a little extra and avoid the mundane task of returning items for "FAIL", yes ?

2.0 out of 5 stars Still less than perfect, February 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had the predecessor to this watch which just missed its warranty period. Rip Curl improved the function and readability, but the functions still lack accurracy. The last watch was not perfect when feeding in tide info; that appears to be fixed, but the 2nd time zone is inaccurate (or when it's set, the main time zone is inaccurate). I know trhis generation tolerates iPhones which don't work, but surely a watch of this price could perform as advertised. I still use this watch because no else seems to understand what a travelling surfer needs.
