Rehabilitating Rip,
By
This review is from: Rip Van Winkle's Return (Hardcover)
Poor Rip! No wonder he was so irresponsible -- he had a nagging wife! Eric A. Kimmel has added some details that make Rip seem more likable -- maybe he wasn't just a deadbeat! After all, he was good with children, right?
Anyway, this book is adorable, yet another great book illustrated by Leonard Everett Fisher. Our favorite Rip, though, is the book illustrated by John Howe. Try them both!

Perfect marriage of storytellers and illustrator,

This review is from: Rip Van Winkle's Return (Hardcover)
Eric Kimmel has remained true to the spirit of Rip Van Winkle while observing our modern liking for respecting why individuals become who they are.
Leonard Everett Fisher's illustrations have an old feel but are easy on the eyes and add to the story. Ahhhh! A great book. |
