This book had really good promise. I came across it in Cosmo magazine and upon reading the first few chapters of the book I realized the excerpt in the magazine feature had been highly edited and cut apart. I was so disappointed because the book seemed absolutely flawless in the excerpt. While the subject matter of the book is very adult, I found most of the actual writing to be very childish. I honestly couldn't get past it and get into the actual story and I ended up just giving up towards the last few pages. Definitely will not be buying from this author again. However, the idea of the story was great and had the writing been cleaned up a bit I would have loved it.

What we have here is a book that knows what it is: sheer entertainment.

Hayley is a bridesmaid stuffed in a horrid dress that she feels will burst wide open at any point. When it does just that, she is horrified. Not just because of the obvious embarrassment, but because the groom is her ex-boyfriend.

Fortunately, his best man is the hot and mysterious Niccolò Rossi, who comes to Hayley’s rescue. Quicker than you can say, “Let me borrow your jacket, you gorgeous hunk of man,” Hayley and Niccolò have their tongues jammed down each other’s throats.

Given that this is a 95-page novella, you can be assured that the hot headboard rockin’ comes (no pun intended) quickly.

But what about after the lovin’? Can our made-for-each-other-between-the-sheets couple last outside of the bedroom? I sure would try if I were Hayley. That Niccolò is mouth watering.

I was looking for a quick and funny novella.what I got was a lot of run on sentences with parentheses in sentences more numerous than I can count. It was not funny but one big bore. Please save your money. The sample was the best part.I really have enjoyed other books by this authorship I was surprised by this.

Story was cute but it could've been longer. More novella length than a full book so the price should reflect that.

There were some pretty funny moments in this book. Including the rip heard across the country. Overall, this was an enjoyable book. I liked Hayley, she’s pretty funny and feels like someone I could be friends with. Nico was hot, but I didn’t really feel like there was much more to him than that. I wanted more and the chemistry between him and Hayley was awesome, but I wanted a little more character development for him and even for her. I think if this had been a little longer maybe it would have been fulfilling, but I felt like I was missing a little something in the end.

There is so much to love about this book. I cannot tell you how much I laughed out loud at this book. I was totally reading it behind closed doors on our half day before Thanksgiving at work, and I was GLAD OF THE DOOR because I couldn't contain myself. SO FUNNY.

It's a nice fairytale Christmas romance where I loved the first half and was disappointed by the second. The story started rather promising - a wardrobe malfunction at a wedding led to scorching hot, yet confusing encounter between the hero, Nico and the heroine, Hayley.

I liked Hayley a lot initially, she was smart and funny and her musings on life, love and men read a lot a cute chick-lit. Hayley was a professional woman who bad luck with men since they were usually intimidated by her brains and didn't appreciated her career-oriented lifestyle.

Nico, on the other hand, was just perfect from the start, too good to be true. We see him through Hayley's eyes and even though she finds him irresistible but believes he disapproves of her. All this leads to a lot of misunderstanding and some very hot loving between the two of them.

It was at Christmas dinner and what followed where things lost their balance for me. From then on the story read just like a rather simple a fairy tale cliche. The hero is in love with the heroine but she fights it because she doesn't believe he can love someone like her. The smart and funny Hayley lost all her common sense and self-confidence and she couldn't believe someone like him could actually fall for someone like her. She insisted on her New Year resolution for no-strings-attached sex, even though she knew it was not working for her. It was a magic reunion at Midnight on New Year's Eve led to fairytale happy end.

It was a nice hot romance but I was definitely disappointed with Hayley - her transition from a smart, witty and self-confidant woman to a self-conscious, immature girl who is afraid to admit her feelings didn't sit well with me.

The story was quite predictable but there were a few good laughs there and Nico was just yummy, making this an enjoyable quick read for a rainy afternoon or a day on the beach.

This was another so-so read for me. I enjoyed it, but it seemed really short. I felt like the heroine went from “I don't want a relationship” to “yep, all set for forever” in just a couple pages with one conversation and the hero was already set from the get-go. So far, that seems to be the nature of these Cosmo Red Hot Reads – not much conflict, really short, sex-positive, all ready for happily-ever-after.

Hayley seemed a little insecure, like she was still looking for a male to validate who she was. She stood taller because Niko saw value in her, because her worth was still smarting from her ex. I felt with the length, we didn't really get to see if she figured out her self-esteem apart from Niko. She has this confident, I'm-going-to-have-a-fling persona, but she's so vulnerable and bashful that we know it's not going to work at all.

Niko was strong and solid, like a broody, passionate billionaire should be. He was quiet and misunderstood, but confident enough to not care. I appreciated how open he was about wanting a relationship. It didn't feel like he needed to grow or anything, the two of them just needed to sort out what they wanted.

There were lots of characters in here standing behind Niko and Hayley and supporting them but it was hard to feel connected to them given the length of the story. It was a nice addition that they had a positive support system, but I felt like I didn't know much about anyone. We don't get a feel for jobs or personalities of any of the characters outside their connection and sexuality.

Right now, it seems like this line of stories hasn't piqued my interest. I've wanted to enjoy them, but I haven't been in the right mindset. I might try this one again sometime when I need a quick, sex-positive, happily-ever-after read and see if it gives me a happy feeling.
