5.0 out of 5 stars Standard pillow in China
Confession, I brought mine back from a trip to China. They're great--somewhat smaller than a US pillow, they mold and conform to your head and neck perfectly and then provide constant support without squish or bounce. And they are cool--the buckwheat husks allow air to pass through and conduct away heat. I wouldn't be without one, and I didn't think they were even...

3.0 out of 5 stars Misleading Product Info; Should say "Travel Pillow"
I ordered this pillow as a birthday gift for my girlfriend, because she likes to use my buckwheat pillow so much. When this came in, it was in a nice box, about the size of a regular pillow. I opened the box to make sure it was in good condition and I was very surprised at how small it is. "Fits standard pillowcase" is a bit misleading. I knew my girlfriend wouldn't mind,...

I knew my girlfriend wouldn't mind, so I just put it back in the box and wrapped it. But, I really don't like companies that aren't straight up about their products. I wouldn't recommend this pillow to anyone unless they were looking for a travel pillow. I think it's small enough for two to fit in a standard pillowcase.

Other than that, it's a nice pillow.

And they are cool--the buckwheat husks allow air to pass through and conduct away heat. I wouldn't be without one, and I didn't think they were even available in the US until I saw this ad. If you want firm but perfectly contoured support, this is your pillow.

We've used buckwheat hull pillows for years and our old ones needed replacing. It's amazing that they are not more readily available. Yes, they are smaller than an average size pillow, but they provide a completely different sleep experience. You can buy them in a larger size, but I really don't think it would improve anything. This size seems better for the head support. If your head or neck perspires at all when you sleep (my husbands head does and my neck sometimes does..) these are great to help keep you cool and dry. You can mold them to help support your head, and if you are a side sleeper they don't smush down on you. There isn't a lot of noise ~ I think it's a soft and comforting sound. Once you get it in the position you want there isn't any more unless you move a lot. I have painful shoulders and also prefer to sleep on my side ~ not a good combination except with this pillow! It supports my head so I don't end up with a sore neck or more pain in my shoulder. The only problem we have with it right now is that they're new and have a bit of dust we've had to shake out. We buy regular sized pillow cases and sew them down to the smaller size. They're smaller size also makes them easier to travel with, but they do weigh a bit more. For us there is nothing better for head and neck support, but we do use regular pillows as 'hug' pillows. =D

pillow fits inside a standard sized pillow case with lots of floppy room. Needed to sew pillow cases small to fit well.

These pillows use dusty hulls resulting in potential allergy problems with buckwheat flour residue in the pillows that escape easily from the cheaper fabrics. I got severe allergies due to this pillow. I am very disappointed that bought it.

This pillow is the best. My neck pain has lessened dramatically after using it. The only bad thing, it is a little too small, but I still would recommend it

My partner requested a buckwheat pillow for Christmas. By all reports it is comfortable and from my perspective, I've noticed less tossing and turning...and less snoring too! I am certainly enjoying the benefits of having my partner sleeping on this pillow!

It arrived promptly and was presented packaged in a box that made wrapping easy too!
