5.0 out of 5 stars No cookie cutter songs here
In an industry that's become over powered with cookie cutter songs, perfectly manufactured for your dancing pleasure, THE KIN breaks away from the pack. They are old souls telling tales of the journey of life. Whether it be love or war they tell it all so well and capture the heart of each situation they sing of with what seems to be an effortless flow of beautiful...

3.0 out of 5 stars Live versus Studio
I saw these guys live in Mt. Clemons, Michigan and I thought they were outstanding. Unfortunately, the studio recordings don't come close to living up to their live performance. These are still some great songs, but I liked the live performance far greater. Both brothers had very strong voices live and the songs had so much more energy. That just doesn't show at all...

In an industry that's become over powered with cookie cutter songs, perfectly manufactured for your dancing pleasure, THE KIN breaks away from the pack. They are old souls telling tales of the journey of life. Whether it be love or war they tell it all so well and capture the heart of each situation they sing of with what seems to be an effortless flow of beautiful harmonies and well crafted music. They do not force any beliefs/messages on the listener though, as each song can be let in in various ways by just about anyone.

I commend them on their amazing new album!

5.0 out of 5 stars It just doesn't get any better than this, December 13, 2007

This review is from: Rise & Fall (Audio CD)
Rise & Fall is the album that, no matter what your taste in music, will never leave the never-fail-you rotation of favorite CDs that we all have. It is subtle, while being energetic and powerful. The songs are masterfully written and arranged and the delivery will leave you wishing that there were 50 songs on the CD. I discovered The Kin in October and don't think I have taken the disk out of the CD player in my car once. It's that good. The songs become better and better with each listen.

It would make the perfect gift for anyone who appreciates good music and likes to discover amazing new talent. They will thank you for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE Kin, October 10, 2007
This review is from: Rise & Fall (Audio CD)
I wish I knew the perfect place to begin when doing a review for a band that gives me goosebumps. I found The Kin randomly one day at a show that I didn't even want to attend. They were opening that night and I had no clue who they were. I have to say I did not TRY to listen to them.. but it was quite impossible not to. The originality, heart felt lyrics and beautiful voices of these brothers was overwhelming, IS overwhelming! Not to mention, they are amazing and personable to boot. Each song hits home in a different way. It is truely impossible not to get hooked. No matter what type of music you enjoy, I guarentee you'll love The Kin! So give them a listen.. and if you don't absolutely love it.... your loss.

5.0 out of 5 stars Traumhaft schöne Musik !!!, December 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE the Kin, September 26, 2011
This review is from: Rise & Fall (Audio CD)
Since listening to the Kin perform live in Philadelphia, I fell for their good looks, AMAZING harmonies and passion for music. This is a great album with a collection of new and refreshed tracks. I love the opening track "Nowhere to Now-here" and "Romeo." If you ever get a chance to see them live, it's well worth it!

The Kin is a band only worthy of 5 stars. They break the mold in popular music. This album is accessible while still feeling completely original. Abraham is my favorite track. Their 2nd album, The Upside, is equally brilliant.

True brilliance. Mellow without being sleepy and obnoxious. Lyrics and music that pull me in and make me feel a hundred different emotions. The Kin have a sound that is completely their own. This is a CD I never tire of.
