Book Description

Methuen Modern Plays October 26, 1992
Winner of the 1992 Evening Standard Best Comedy Award and the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Comedy,"The Rise and Fall of Little Voice is a cracker, original, hilarious and hauntingly sad" (Daily Telegraph)

"Like everything Cartwright writes, Little Voice is playful, magical and terrifying, a view of the world from an unexpected angle, perpetrated by an imagination that notices the dust in the grooves of old records and finds poetry in garish, swanky clothes or the glitterball of a rowdy northern club" (Sunday Times)

4.0 out of 5 stars A Little Voice Worth A Lot Of Credit, December 16, 2000
By

This review is from: The Rise and Fall of Little Voice (Reissue ed) (Paperback)
A wonderful script with powerful characters and wonderful plot! This is one guaranteed to delight audiences, with an eclectic grouping of lower class Brits and one beautiful shining star, Little Voice. Cartwright has developed a play that is fun, light hearted and guaranteed to be enjoyed by audience's of all ages with 'guest appearances' by famous stars. The only problem with this script, is finding an actress with the ability to impersonate so many celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland. If possible, though, this script is surefire winner.
