The BEST Modern "Classic Rock",
By
This review is from: Rise (Spec) (Audio CD)
It's really a shame that this CD hasn't been released stateside yet. With a killer CD like Rise, this is one band that DESERVES to be known about on both sides of the pond. While not quite playing at the same level as Zeppelin, The Answer is definitely a band on the same level as the Black Crowes, Bad Company, and Nazareth. Cormac Neeson is easily one of the best rock vocalist in recent years. It's great to hear a band with this raw intensity and skill in this age of whiny emo and "just plain loud" rock bands."Rise" itself is a very solid album with no filler tracks. Though the style is definitely more in the "classic rock" vein, the tracks all sound original and refreshing. This album is definitely modern, but hearkens back to the great rock bands of the 70's. "Into the Sky", "Into the Gutter" and "Never Too Late" are all loud songs with amazing guitar riffs, while "Be What You Want" and "Always" are slower, yet no less powerful tracks. The material on the second "Rise" special edition CD are good enough to warrant a second unique CD of their own. Besides some live tracks from the Band's one night stand in Tokyo, original tracks like the Black Crowes' inspired "Rock Bottom Blues" and the Zeppelin-ish hop "Take it Easy" are great in their own right. The special edition CD also has a killer cover of Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion". I would HIGHLY recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of classic rock. If you're unfortunate enough to live in a country where this album hasn't yet been released, DEFINITELY BUY IT ON AMAZON NOW! Keep your eyes on this band; they're going to be huge someday! This is easily my favorite album of all time!

No question needed with The Answer,

Hmmmmm....$29.99 for the CD or $8.99 for the download. Hmmmmm. Decisions, decisions. Well, maybe if your driving a friggin' Humvee you have wads of cash to blow out your wazoo. But for me, limited funds and and obsession for great music, I have to make my buck stretch as far as I can. That leaves me another $21.00 dollars to purchase other great albums like this. These guys rock and my favorite song right out of the gate is 'Under The Sky'. What a friggin' awesome track. The whole album is great and getting 26 tracks is a steal for $8.99 downloaded. Check these guys out and also Roadstar.

One of the best new bands around today. The Answer just simply get down to business, blues laced rock that apologies for nothing and gives everything. The special edition is as good a value for money as you can get....studio tracks, live tracks and the odd cover thrown in for good measure. You can compare The Answer to the Black Crowes, maybe the Small Faces, even Bad Company but I don't think that does anyone any favours ...The Answer are just The Answer. Great vocals, solid drum and bass and some very tasty guitar licks make the cd skip along at a great pace. Favourite track for myself is Doctor.... Along with Rose Hill Drive these boys deserve to be huge
