5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book June 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
this book is a must read for self development. I've read other management and sef development books that just complicate simple ideas, not the case with this one. You can read from the first page, that the author talks from own experience. The rules and ideas are clearly presented and it is easy to read. In fact, it is useful not only at the management level, but also as an employee or also in personal life. Just a book to re-reading from time to time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! July 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I've read a few books on rules at the workplace and principles of good management, but almost all of them only contain a lot of common sense. Here's a good book with pragmatic advice that you can immediately benefit of, and that you wouldn't necessarily come up with until you read/you're told. Thank you author for sharing your experience, I started applying your suggestions already!

Higthly recommend this thought provoking, down to earth discussion of management style. Logical and a very easy read. This is an excellent primer on the subject, not only for the office but for life in general. Definite 5 Star.

This book helped me a lot for my job promotion. Just before interview my project lead position, I read it the whole book and some of the words I even remember by my heart. Again in my interview day, I used those words very well and all my bosses have a lot of impression on me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant December 8, 2012
By Jack D
Format:Kindle Edition
A well written and concise book by someone who clearly has a wealth of experience working within a team and people management. As someone who has just started my career and for the last few years worked within a team, I can totally relate to some of the points made and I will certainly take into use the author's advice and experience. I think it's a great read for those starting out with their jobs and those wanting to work their way up. Many of the best managers I have worked with have shown the same leadership skills discussed in this book and the worst ones displayed the attributes which this book also describes. Valuable, easy to read and insightful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, short, to the point September 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of this short book. The author condensed the essence of being a successful professional (as well as a manager) into about 40 simple and short pieces. Most are just 1-2 page long, easy to read, and really to the point! I might not agree with the author 100%, but I truly appreciate his effort in making it so accessible. I recommend this short book to every professional (manager or not) - although some of the advice only apply if you are a manager, it's largely applicable to all. At such a low price point, I really feel that I am getting a great great value -- and I believe you will too.

More About the Author

Hi, Joerg here, let me introduce myself.

I started writing about Management and Leadership in early 2012. I decided to write down what works for me, and share this with you, after many years of subconsciously applying my own Management rule set.

The ideas and principles you find in my books might not seem groundbreaking at first but they are time proven and work in real life!

Why should you listen to me? Well, as in any case you should do so only with a healthy dose of skepticism. Do I have all the answers? Do I know everything?

No! But I can provide you with a set of rules and principles that always work for me. Of course these are personal - these are my rules - and therefore not always perfect for everyone.

However, I believe that this is the best Information on Management, Leadership and how to achieve Success that you can get!

When I am not writing I am working as an IT Director for a global consumer goods company. I have studied Business Administration and hold an MBA from Heriott-Whatt University, Edinburgh, Scotland.

You can reach me at joemeier@me.com or at my Blog at http://risetothetop.net.
