Book Description

All, future astronomer, Memphis Holland wanted was to quit smoking. The pressure to complete her dissertation on Ophiuchus the lost astrological sign and receive her PhD in Astrophysics has been high. She visits a hypnotherapist to rid her of her cravings and instead is given the ability to see the future and to teleport. To anyone else this would be a wonderful trade, but she doesn’t see it that way. These strange new powers and the fact that there is a serial killer piercing women in their Third Eye chakras and leaving their bodies all over New York City has her highly stressed.
Yoga doesn’t help and neither does her new position at Sign of The Times, a New Age newspaper run by her best friend Jill. Her mysterious coworker Lawrence, the reporter covering the murders, puts her even more on edge. He is nothing but kind yet there is just something about him; he has this uncanny ability to know exactly what she’s thinking.
Her astrological predictions for the newspaper are well received. But the eerily accurate personal horoscopes that are sent to her by an anonymous astrogirl88 are not. As the secrets and predictions from astrogirl88 unfold Memphis is led down a dangerous path to find out who she really is and the unsettling truth that her destiny may have already been written for her.

About the Author

Juliet C. Obodo writes fantasy fiction and inspirational city guides. She loves both sci-fi and fantasy due to the fact that she has a short attention span and books in these genres are able to hold her attention for more than a chapter. She love novels that introduce a sci-fi or fantasy element in to the plot in a realistic or almost mundane way. Recently released favorites are The Magicians and The Discovery of Witches. They inspired her to finally put the stories in her mind on to paper. She is based in New York City, but travels out-of-state once a month and internationally every two months. She's constantly in search of the perfect cup of coffee and a coffee shop like Central Perk on Friends. Follow her on twitter @julietobodo or visit her blog Traveling*Indie*Writer*Chick

4.0 out of 5 stars Good beginning of a series May 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found this book really interesting. The plot is a fresh twist on familiar themes, and the pacing is brisk. It's filled with sly, smart humor and lines that stayed with me. The characters are generic twenty-somethings; I don't know that that's really a bad thing, however. They're believable and likable enough to keep a reader involved, and, anyway, I don't go to escapist fiction (which this is for me) for long interior monologues.

I am intrigued by the way the plot is furthered by static explanation and historical, scientific, and/or mythological background, and that it works. Mostly. That's quite a balancing act. While the exposition is important, I think it could be shortened. That said, I'll be back for book two.

3.0 out of 5 stars Written in the Sky Rise of the Wadjet Witch June 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was ok. I really got into and Liked the last half of the book more then the first half. I understand the writer was giving us background information. But unless you follow horoscopes and are into astronomy, and like Egyptian history, it can get alittle boring. Memphis is a 20 something woman who has just been dumped by her boyfriend Jonathon, who she also works with. Memphis is also a student of astronomy. Jill her best friend gives her the name of a therapist(to hypnotise her to get Memphis to quit smoking) but its really Memphis's Evil Aunt who buts her under and activates her nodes. After the session Memphis can not remeber what happened, but then She starts to see visions,is able to transport herself by just thinking of somewhere ect. Memphis is an orphan and does not have any family. So she doesn't have anyone to ask about the things that are happening to her. Towards the end of the book things get very interesting and things are explained more. I will be looking for the second book if this is a series. I was given a free copy of this book in order to review it. By Loves To Read

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing June 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was drawn in by the cover. Very nice. So, this book is about a serial killer who kills by stabbing in the third eye. This has got to be one of the most unique ideas I have come across in a long time. Also, there is a girl handing out horoscopes that are freakishly accurate. I don't want to give too much away but this is a good one
