9 out of 10, May 13, 2008
This is the best Pu-ehr available now on Amazon.
The earthy-ness that characterizes I would rank at
a 9 of 10. The flavor opens up with each sip as
it cools down while drinking. By the end of cup one
you are ready for more, and each tou che allows a
few steepings.
Has the deep (and I mean deep) dark red of a good
dark Pu-ehr, and the flavor is rich, slight bitter after bite,
not unpleasing. If you like strong dark coffee, this would take
it's place in a heart beat.
One thing not mentioned on the can, while water is set to boil, run
the lil' birds nest tou che under some hot water to "loosen" it proir to
steeping. Not special to this brand, is just the proper way to prepare
the beverage.

Very satisfied with the quality of this tea, February 8, 2009
This review is from: Rishi Tea Organic Pu-erh Tuo Cha Loose Tea, 5-Ounce Tin (Pack of 2) (Grocery)
I was first introduced to Pu-Ehr tea by a Chinese friend, who told me that most westerners do not like it. After one sip, I agreed with him, and after one cup, I was hooked. That's the way it is with Pu-Ehr tea - initially an acquired taste, then an addiction.
This tea is quite a good Pu-Ehr for the price. Some low quality Pu-Ehr tastes very musty and earthy; this does not. I brew one brick in a 22 fluid ounce (0.65 liter), and this yields the entire Pu-Ehr experience. (A can contains 25 bricks.) The first cups are mild, but the bottom couple of cups yield the heavy duty Pu-Ehr jolt.
Never add sugar or milk or lemon to Pu-Ehr, just take it straight or with dried chrysanthemum blossoms.

Addictive!, November 24, 2006
This is my new favorite tea. It's black as coffee maybe even darker. It has a very strong flavor. You will either love it or hate it. The tea leaves are allowed to decompose or compost a bit.... it is weird but it makes a amazingly powerful tea. It is supposed to promote weight loss if you want to use it for that reason.
