Always Take a Risk for Family...,
This review is from: Risk (Paperback)
Justus Robinson lives in Vincent's shadow. Since his mother's death, Justus has felt like a lost child with a father that hates him. It wasn't until the wedding of Vincent and Carolyn that Justus sees the light at the end of the tunnel. He realizes that Carolyn's sister, Angela, is the one. The only issue is his age; Justus is seventeen and just completed high school while Angela is starting work at one of the finest law firms in town.
Angela felt she had to dance with Justus, they were the maid of honor and best man respectively. During the dance, she felt it. The intense feeling of desire with the most deeply sense of love she has ever experienced. Angela denied the feeling and quickly made a get-away when his date interrupted them. She vowed they would never dance like that again because her attraction to him was way too strong. Even though they were now related by marriage, she made a conscious effort to avoid family events that she knew he would be in attendance. Ten years later, Angela was on a downward spiral. Ron, her lover of the last 3 years publicly broke up with her and days later her remaining family, Carolyn and Vincent, were killed a terrible car accident. Angela was left holding the hand of her niece, Maya, to whom she considered a stranger. Justus would step in right on time to assist in Maya's lost of her parents. Only this time, Angela and Justus want to have their cake and eat it to. Will they be able to work out custody of Maya and still remain friends? Christopher takes readers on a poignant journey of strong family ties and undeniable love. Even though the storyline reaches a lull near the middle sparks fly at the end. The characters have issues that we have all seen in our own family members. You know the family that you want to cuss out and hug years later. RISK is an emotional read that readers will fervently discuss with their friends. Deltareviewer Reviewing for Real Page Turners

I Loved this book!!! The characters were believable, the storyline was believable... I read this book in one day. I couldn't put it down. I love the honest emotions that were portrayed in Justus and Angela's relationship and also his relationship with his father. I have read both of her other novels and I enjoyed those also. Ann Christopher is a great writer!! She one of my top favorites. I cannot wait on her next book!!

Taking a Chance,

Angela Dennis, suffering from a bout of loneliness during her sister's wedding, tried to stay as far away from her newly acquired, underaged brother-in-law, Justus Robinson, as possible. However, Justus wasn't having it and convinces her to dance with him. While in his arms, Angela soon discovers that underneath Justus' youthful exterior is a full-blooded man in every sense of the word.
Ten years later, their paths cross again as they try to cope with the untimely deaths of her sister and his brother. Now they must decide who will take care of their niece. Although dire circumstances have brought them back together, Justus takes advantage of the situation and vows not to make the same mistake twice. Since the wedding, Angela has secretly harbored her attraction to Justus. Now since they are constantly near each other, she's having a hard time keeping her feelings at bay. Ann Christopher has written a wonderful novel. The primary and secondary characters are memorable, and the plot and storyline well thought out. The romance encased in the pages of this novel will resonate in the reader's mind long after the story ends. RISK, Christopher's second novel, is a testament that she is well on her way of becoming a very talented author. Reviewed by Pamela Bolden of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

Finally, the powers-that-be decided to make this book available for Kindle! I love, love, love Ann Christopher and really wanted to read this one, but wanted it on my Kindle rather than paper or hardback. This book is good, y'all! I was initially kind of skeeved by the idea of Justus being 17 when he meets Angela (17!!!), but of course, my girl handled it well. Really, really good story with well-drawn, believable characters and lots of passion!!! Loved it!Ann Christopher, you rock! Please keep the good stories coming!

First, I'm a huge Ann Christopher fan. I've re-read this book many times over the yrs and decided to post a review. Angela and Justus are perfect for one another and for Maya too. I really like Angela's character bcz she's your typical self-centered career woman while Justus is your typical alpha male. And, you can tell when they meet at the wedding, attraction like theirs will have to be dealt with at some point. Its unfortunate that the re-union is under such sad and devastating circumstances, but it sets everything in motion. Ann's plot is far more complicated than it appears, bcz the neglectful aunt Angela and loving uncle Justus must come together to care for their niece, 3 yr old Maya. Gradually, you see Angela become more nurturing and loving while Justus becomes more interested in a relationship rather than just sex with Angela. The way these two fall for one another is heartwarming and romantic, but a near fatal incident sends everyone to their respective corners and the reader is left wondering whether love can REALLY heal all hurts. Risk is a winner all the way!

Is there any Justus among us?,
This review is from: Risk (Paperback)
I loved this book. From a young age Justus knew what he wanted and he wanted Angela. I loved how he nick-named her Duchess because that is exactly what she acted like. I loved his strong character and also his very raw and honest emotions. It was also a very sad story in dealing with the loss of a loved one. This book truly spoke to my heart. I cant say enough about the book and how good it was. This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and this one is in my favorite top 10. Awesome job Ann!!!
