Risk Worth Taking...,
By Malaika Tamu "Sweet n' Sassy" (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Risk the Heart (Perfect Paperback)
"Risk the Heart" is a REFRESHING debut...the SENSUAL romance and the INTRIGUING mystery/suspense surrounding Marcus and Sabryna's budding relationship keeps me turning the pages...Jasmine Alexander creates an ENGAGING cast of characters...I hope she writes a follow-up novel about the rest of the Cortland men, their little sister, and their circle of friends...and despite the typos and/or editing issues it's still a DELIGHTFULLY worthwhile romantic treat.

I've finished reading my copy of Risk the Heart and can't wait to read it again. Ms. Alexander gives realistic insight to the struggles some have to overcome in order to allow love into their lives. It's not always easy, but always possible if we just "Risk the Heart". Great job for this up and coming author. I can't wait for this next book. This book is a great addition to any romance collection.

Some Risks Are Okay,

This review is from: Risk The Heart (Kindle Edition)
When businessman Marcus Cortland hears the laughter of Sabryna Givens, he feels as if he has found something. Sabryna feels she knows the Marcus Cortland type; he is a playboy who loves them, then leaves them and she wants nothing to do with him. But Mr. Cortland is quite persistent and will not pass up the opportunity to know the Middleton Youth Center assistant director a little better, so he begins to woo her. If that was not challenging enough, Marcus has to deal with a stalker whose threats escalate as his relationship with Sabryna progresses.
Risk the Heart by Jasmine Alexander is a refreshing read! The chemistry between the characters, Marcus and Sabryna, is palpable and exciting. The story develops with a steady flow that keeps readers hungry for more. But something that was kind of off, though explained in the book, were the circumstances surrounding Marcus' stalker. Though strange, it added to the story making it intriguing and recommendable to romance, mystery and suspense lovers alike. Reviewed by Chantay APOOO BookClub

The Sweetest Sin,

This review is from: Risk the Heart (Perfect Paperback)
Sabryna Givens and Marcus Cortland make an unlikely couple in Jasmine Alexander's RISK THE HEART. Sabryna is a shy woman dedicated to the community center where she works and in enriching the lives of children. In college, she was focused on her studies and now she is focused on her work, and has no time for relationships. Her only social outings are attending the charity events, which she hates, even though they are a necessary evil to get funding for the youth center. Sabryna would be more then happy to just spend time with her kids at the center or at home alone, but Marcus Cortland is determined to make her spend time with him.
A woman's laugh grabs Marcus's attention and he knows he has to have the woman attached to it before he even sees her. When he turns and sees Sabryna no more than six feet away, he feels immediately attracted to an angel. The challenge is to get this woman to give him a chance, even if only for one night. Once Sabryna and Marcus come together, one challenge after another arises. Despite constantly fighting each other and their desires, Sabryna and Marcus must come together to fight a common enemy if either will be able to finally have true love. RISK THE HEART is quick read that kept my attention from beginning to end. The well-developed characters, plot, the suspense, and the passion helped me to finish the novel in one sitting. I was annoyed by the characters stubbornness, but encouraged by their love and the romantic in me hoped for a happy ending. If you're looking for a quick read with passion and suspense, I recommend Alexander's RISK THE HEART. Reviewed by Criss Coles of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers |
