It's not often that a debut album has the potential to rocket a singer right to the top, but this self-titled album by Rissi Palmer could do just that. I just received this disc today and promptly got stuck in traffic on the way to my night-shift job. Happily so. Because I then had the opportunity to listen to the entire album without interruption.

Wow! Rissi Palmer doesn't have to SAY she's country, just show it with her wonderful voice. Though I had previewed her video of 'Country Girl' on the CMT website prior to pre-ordering her CD, she had me from the very first track. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire album and if you're a fan of contemporary country music, you will too. The liner notes indicate that Miss Palmer also wrote or co-wrote 8 of the 12 phenomenal tracks.

Highly recommended 5 star debut. Rissi Palmer is to be congratulated.

If I could, I would nominate her for the ACM Horizon Award next time around.

I happened to catch a quick video on line and immediately ordered the CD. Ms. Palmer's voice is pure old-fashioned country, like I haven't heard in a long time. Before I read a single thing about her, while listening to the music I flashed on Patsy Cline, my very favorite country singer. I later read that Ms. Palmer also admires Patsy Cline. I highly recommend Rissi Palmer.

I agree that there is a critical 'fishiness' about the negative review. I was raised on Country, Blues, R&B, and all kinds of music; this is definately the kind of country that Patsy, Loretta and Reba produce. I heard one song and I immediately bought the album!!! This is a great CD and I think that there is nothing Beyonce or Britney about it, this is quality songwriting and vocal talent!

Rissi, like me is a country girl for sure.

Please ignore any reviewer who is foolish enough to say anything about this album isn't country! Rissi Palmer is an amazing artist and this is an outstanding CD. There is so much heart in every line of every song, and as far as it being "kid friendly" my little girls LOVE IT!!! Some people unfortunately have to be ignorantly depressing in writing reviews...I am certainly pleased this singer is on the scene and offering her talents to the country music genre! BUY THIS ALBUM...you will be thrilled track after track!

I just discovered this artist today and I have to say this gal's music has an earthiness and soul that is very rare. She seems to have all talents that make a big star - great voice, songwriter, guitarist, stage presence. I look forward to a lot of great music to come.

Several months ago I saw Rissi Palmer's video "Country Girl" on CMT and I was excited! As a black woman from St. Louis, I was happy to see that we have women in music who show that we are more than just Hip Hop. I am new to country music, by way of the Nelly and Tim McGraw collaboration, and I am finding the more I listen to this genre the more I like. And for those who say she is not country enough because she doesn't have enough of a "twang", too many people produced on the album, or she is too polished (whatever that means) - I say what about American Idol winner Carrie Underwood - she seems to be accepted just fine.

country western music because it just really isn't my thing but I just happened to hear one of Ms Palmer's songs while shopping with one of my friends who is very much into C&W music and I had to have this CD. I really love her voice. She doesn't have that annoying nasal twang when she sings and her voice is just beautiful. There are some songs I love more then others but all in all I love listening to this CD.

Rissi Palmer is amazing! To be so young and to be able to express such mature feeling with her voice through her lyrics, is simply breathtaking.

Her storytelling of song has proven that country music is definitely her purest expression. You can feel and hear the confident joy of both her singing and guitar playing. What a pleasure to witness such a talent...she is definitely in it to be a classic artist and to be around for a long time. The last time I was this excited about a female country artist was Allison Krauss. looking forward to Rissi and her band's live performances.

This is a very passionate and fun album. The songs a classic country. Ms. Palmer has done a great job mastering the classic country sound and mixing it with a little southern blues. She is remarkable. More artist should be so diverse. There is not one bad song on this album. A nice mix of slow, medium and dancable songs. Mr. Ohh Lalala was my favorite song.

This girl is an awesome new country artist. Every track on her new CD is amazing and I thoroughly enjoy listening to her. Hope that she comes out with more CDs!
