We spent weeks tye-dying T-shirts and Onesies for a craft fair, we used RIT dye and so we thought a RIT fixative would be in order to set the colors and keep them from bleeding. The end result was WORSE than had we not used it at all!! We followed the directions perfectly, but ended up with a lot of brown clothing, everything bled and we were very upset!! Do not waste your money on this product, my advice is stay away from RIT all together, spend a little more money on a different type of dye.

I've just spent the better part of the weekend tie-dying with Rit products. The one detail I can share with you, is that if you don't use this product, your dye will fade upon the very first wash to colors that can only be described as horrible pastels.

So back to the store I went and the only fixative they had was Rit. I figured I was using Rit dye so this might help to make the colors stay in the new t-shirts that I tie-dyed. I added 5 tablespoons to 3 gallons water that I heated to 160°F on the stove. As the directions stated, I kept the shirts in for 20 minutes. The results were a little better than not using the fixative. Still the shirts bled like crazy and I'm left wondering if Rit dye is good for anything other than Easter Eggs.

Long story short, this fixative doesn't do the job. This dye doesn't live up to the color on the box. I'm very disappointed in the whole process.

I brought this directly from RIT and I regret it! This product is horrible I purchased it to set black dye and it just turned everything an awful grey color! This does not work and I suggest you not waste your money buying this garbage! If I could give this no stars I would! So disappointed with this product!
