Beautifully packaged book (at least the red version is) and fun to read, despite the fact Konig's funny-bossy tone sometimes veers into pure brat, which is annoying. The disappointment in this book is that you can merrily read through a whole amusing chapter only to find at the end of it that you're learned almost nothing. More subtance, Rita! Still loved the book, though - it's one to go back to again and again to be cheered up, when life just seems too routine.

Format: Hardcover
This book is all about putting in the substance & style into your home. Rita suggests that you try to have fun while doing the cleaning and general domestic chores (and suggests ways to try to make it palatable), and how to go about putting in all the little things that don't have to cost the earth, but that make a house a home.
Rita's tone is very tounge in cheek and quite bossy (as she herself says at the start of the book) and while some of her ideas are a little over the top (and I would certainly skip the menu suggestions which are all stodgy and old fashioned and very British)the overall book is witty, stylish and strong on the detail of how to bring comfort to your home. Ultimately, Rita says, it is the little details and the effort that goes in that make a house a home, and not the money spent. By following her lead, you can bring style and luxury to your everyday life.

Format: Hardcover
A wonderfully fun little book about giving parties, gifts, and keeping house. It's chatty and stylish but perhaps not a detailed as one would like.
