I researched the Cat5/Cat5e cables, but decided upon this Cat6 because you get future connectivity for the same or lower price! How hard is that to figure out?
Plugged it in (after wiring through two walls) to the XBox 360, & my little gamer son says no problem so far. Heck of a lot better, more reliable, and cheaper (by $60-85) than buying the wireless unit for the XBox, as long as you don't mind crawling through the attic or basement!

One of these did not survive a rough trip through the wall. It would connect briefly then drop, so I guess there is a short somewhere. Lucky for me I bought two when I only ended up needing one, so I was able to clip the cables together and pull the working cable through.

Purchased this as great price when compared to just buying cable at Home Depot. Roughly half the price. Unfortunately think I may have received a defective cable. Tested it by swapping out this cable for a known one already connected to my computer. Did not work. I believe it was because of the bad snap in connectors at each end. Once inserted I had a very difficult time getting them back out. Almost broke my router getting this cable disconnected. It has a slightly different snap tab then I've seen before and looks like it was either defective or slightly larger than normal.
The other thing to note is this is a patch cable and has flexible wires inside. If you are going to place wires permanently inside your walls you should use solid wire and/or have to use special flexible jack connectors on the wall plates. Didn't realize that until I did some additional research. Ended up purchasing wire from Home Depot. Tossed this wire as it wasn't worth returning it or buying new connectors for the ends.

Well this was advertised as cat6 cable. But after testing all 3 100ft cable I bought, the speed was maxed out at 100mbps. I should have tested this first as it is past 30 day return policy. Somehow with all the great reviews for this cable I didn't realize that product will not work for me. It is a piece of junk now for my needs...

abolutly zero trouble I live 75+ ft from router so wireless signal was weak so bought cord and ran it through this, around and over that including outside for a stretch and works great. Download and upload times over doubled and disconnect errors are virtually non existent. get this cord!!

Bandwidth precedes data rates just as highways come before traffic. Doubling the bandwidth is like adding twice the number of lanes on a highway. The general difference between category 5e and category 6 is in the transmission performance, and extension of the available bandwidth for 100 MHz for category 5e to 200 MHz for category 6. Category 6a (or Augmented Category 6) is defined at frequencies up to 500 MHz--twice that of Cat. Great price for 100 footer. I cut it into smaller lengths but the ends it came with looked durable. It was easy to work with compared to some other twisted pair cable that I have used in the past. The pictured product shows a cable that has the rating written on it. The cable I received is a darker blue and does not have any sort of marking on it. This is the first time that I have ever come across a cat5 or cat6 cable with nothing written on the sheath. If you are going to run this cable between walls or any other place it is difficult to run wires or access I would not purchase this cable for two reasons. One, you should be purchasing cat6a not cat6. Two, because there is no indication on the cable itself the chance exists that it is not actually cat6 at all.

After some brief research and other reviewer's comments, decided to purchase this cable to hard wire my PC for internet access. One would think that the length of the cable could possibly reduce connection speed, but not so with this cable. It works exactly as advertised, there is no noticeable loss of speed, and the best part is the price. Highly recommended product.

This Cat6 Ethernet cable is great. Not only is it a grade up from the regular Cat5 that most stores and homes use, it is 1/7th the price. I needed internet from my office on the second floor to the basement and this was the perfect cable. Hooked up to a Slingbox and PS3 perfectly.
We had to run it up the wall to the attic over to the clothes chute and then down the side to get to the basement, and then over to where we needed the other jack. Perfect length. We then bought two couplers and faceplates for the wall. They plugged right in and screwed into the wall. This is by far the easiest way to run ethernet cable. If you buy the cable without the plugs at the end, it is cheaper. I would buy this on amazon again in a heartbeat.

Works, Cheap,

This cable works well enough and is fairly cheap. I haven't had any chance to test the actual speed you can get through this but I have used one and two hundred feet worth of this cable to connect computers and network hardware and it was worked well enough for my applications.
There aren't any identifying marks on the cables to say that they are cat 6 or network cables, so all you really have to go on is the word of the seller. they come coiled up and zip-tied inside a heat-sealed bag. Clearly new and well packaged. |
