RiteAV - Mini-Toslink Optical Adapter

This adapter works, but the build and quality are bad. Others complained that the size of their adapter was too small. Unfortunately, mine was way too big. I inserted it into my MacBook Pro's audio out jack, and it somehow broke something inside. Now regular 3.5 mm analog audio devices (e.g. my apple earphones) fit very loosely and do not make a clicking sound when inserted. This product does not follow the most basic of standards of shape and dimension for a product like this.

Its a toslink adapter. With any optical cable, either the light gets from one end to the other or it doesn't. Buying expensive toslink cables/adapters is pointless, so I want with the cheapest I could find.

This adapter works fine. The only issue I have is that it doesn't fit as tightly on to the toslink cable as my old one did. It stays on, but feels like it might pull out at some point when I don't want it to. It also doesn't fit as snugly into the jack on my MacBook as my old (and more expensive) adapter did.

Summary: Works fine, little loose fitting. I might try a different product. Saving $2 or 3 isn't really worth it in exchange for something that might pull out.

This adapter works like a charm with my Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer card. In fact I am using it with my Triton headset, and let me just say its awesome having surround sound while also talking via Skype. If your looking for the same kind of setup, this adapter will work perfectly!

It seems to get the job done but is not very sturdy. I wish it were designed to be tougher. I am afraid I will break it if I handle it wrong.

I use this to connect my iMac with my receiver. It stays fit in the socket. Good sound output for its price.

Been using this for months now w/o problems. Didn't feel as tight as some more expensive connectors, but no problems once installed.
