The Ritelite 9 LED Tri light is perfect for the spots in your home where you need extra light. This light has three light settings - on, dim and off. The three multi-directional light heads come with three LEDs in each head. Each light head rotates independently to direct light right where you need it. The light comes with an optional motion sensor to operate light automatically. When set on the motion sensor application the light will turn ON when motion is detected. Unit will turn OFF automatically when no motion is detected for a period of time. Perfect when using in and under cabinets and in closets. You can mount this light with hook and loop take or the screw mount bracket, both of which are included. The light is battery operated and operates on 3 AA batteries (not included).

I bought a set of three from Costco a few months ago. They were great for my closets as I could put them on the far wall or ceiling and they would come on when they detected my presence. Often the motion of opening the door would allow them to come on. These are better than the ones that switch on when "ambient" light is detected, because sometimes there isn't any!

HOWEVER. Two of the three lights would somehow KILL the batteries in a matter of days. The third one I have is still working on the original set of batteries, whereas I've replaced the batteries in the other two numerous times already. So I gave up. I figured I'd go back to Costco, buy another set and just return the others that didn't work.

HOWEVER. When I did this, for some reason they changed the range on how these things work! Now they only detect motion that happens right in front of the sensor rather than the 6' range that the first ones I had.

WTF??? How is that even practical? Rather than being able to put the light somewhere out of the way where the light would come on automatically, I now have to put it somewhere close to the closet door and wave my hand around?

*BUZZ* Thanks for playing. I returned the second set. Wrote the company about the other defective two lights, and have yet to hear back. I'm guessing I probably won't hear anything.

this is a great light that is everything they say it is. it is very bright with 9 leds. they swivel and point in different directions. it comes with 2-sided tape or screws to mount. i used the sticky tape and hung this up in my attic. it lit it up perfectly. we do not have electricity up there, so this was just what i was looking for.

just 2 warnings. first, one of my led's was out. i did not think it was worth returning for that though. it was plenty bright with 8 leds. second, the motion sensor range is 1.5". i planned on hanging this on the ceiling of the attic because i thought the range would be a couple feet and it would come on when we came up into the attic, but you have to wave your hand right in front of the sensor. it works great, but just beware that you can't necessarily put it very high up and use the sensor.

but it is a great little light and does exactly what i wanted it to do.

I love both the quality (i.e. color) and intensity of the light. This is a nice white/blue quality light. It lights up a small hall way when placed close to the floor.

I also use these as nightlights for when my granddaughter sleeps over.

I bought them in part because of the motion sensor. -- There I am totally disappointed. I have to almost touch the sensor before it comes on.

Overall this lights are very versatile. They are much brighter than a lot of other 'puck' style lights since there are 9 LED lights in this unit.
