4.0 out of 5 stars nice bright little light
this is a great light that is everything they say it is. it is very bright with 9 leds. they swivel and point in different directions. it comes with 2-sided tape or screws to mount. i used the sticky tape and hung this up in my attic. it lit it up perfectly. we do not have electricity up there, so this was just what i was looking for.

just 2 warnings...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, but not very practical.
I bought a set of three from Costco a few months ago. They were great for my closets as I could put them on the far wall or ceiling and they would come on when they detected my presence. Often the motion of opening the door would allow them to come on. These are better than the ones that switch on when "ambient" light is detected, because sometimes there isn't any...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, but not very practical., August 16, 2009
This review is from: RiteLite LPL1060MW Wireless 9-LED Tri Accent Light with Optional Motion Sensor (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought a set of three from Costco a few months ago. They were great for my closets as I could put them on the far wall or ceiling and they would come on when they detected my presence. Often the motion of opening the door would allow them to come on. These are better than the ones that switch on when "ambient" light is detected, because sometimes there isn't any!

HOWEVER. Two of the three lights would somehow KILL the batteries in a matter of days. The third one I have is still working on the original set of batteries, whereas I've replaced the batteries in the other two numerous times already. So I gave up. I figured I'd go back to Costco, buy another set and just return the others that didn't work.

HOWEVER. When I did this, for some reason they changed the range on how these things work! Now they only detect motion that happens right in front of the sensor rather than the 6' range that the first ones I had.

WTF??? How is that even practical? Rather than being able to put the light somewhere out of the way where the light would come on automatically, I now have to put it somewhere close to the closet door and wave my hand around?

*BUZZ* Thanks for playing. I returned the second set. Wrote the company about the other defective two lights, and have yet to hear back. I'm guessing I probably won't hear anything.

just 2 warnings. first, one of my led's was out. i did not think it was worth returning for that though. it was plenty bright with 8 leds. second, the motion sensor range is 1.5". i planned on hanging this on the ceiling of the attic because i thought the range would be a couple feet and it would come on when we came up into the attic, but you have to wave your hand right in front of the sensor. it works great, but just beware that you can't necessarily put it very high up and use the sensor.

but it is a great little light and does exactly what i wanted it to do.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great quality to the light but the motion sensor is awful, August 4, 2010
This review is from: RiteLite LPL1060MW Wireless 9-LED Tri Accent Light with Optional Motion Sensor (Tools & Home Improvement)
I love both the quality (i.e. color) and intensity of the light. This is a nice white/blue quality light. It lights up a small hall way when placed close to the floor.

I also use these as nightlights for when my granddaughter sleeps over.

I bought them in part because of the motion sensor. -- There I am totally disappointed. I have to almost touch the sensor before it comes on.

Overall this lights are very versatile. They are much brighter than a lot of other 'puck' style lights since there are 9 LED lights in this unit.

1.0 out of 5 stars insensitive sensor, December 11, 2011

This so-called motion sensor light needs to be much more sensitive to motion. I almost need to jump up and down in front of it to make the lights turn on. Buy this instead: SE Wireless Motion Sensor Light - 10 Super-Bright LED. It's available at amazon and is much more sensitive to motion and several times brighter.

I bought these for use in closets where the ceiling is about three feet away from a person standing in the doorway. The motion sensor is not sensitive enough to detect anyone more than a few inches away, so it is useless as a ceiling light. The light does work manually when the on/off switch is pressed, but there are dozens of cheaper products if that is all you need.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so great., January 25, 2012
This review is from: RiteLite LPL1060MW Wireless 9-LED Tri Accent Light with Optional Motion Sensor (Tools & Home Improvement)
These things do not light up unless you wave your hand DIRECTLY in front of them. They are also not very bright. They come with a velcro-plastic mounting system as well that does not work. I ended up just setting them on some ammo boxes. I wouldn't waste your cash if you want to clearly light your safe.

3.0 out of 5 stars LED Accent Light, January 1, 2011

This review is from: RiteLite LPL1060MW Wireless 9-LED Tri Accent Light with Optional Motion Sensor (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased the light to use in a dark closet and felt the ability to adjust the lights from 3 angles would be a good feature. I am disappointed that the light is not very bright nor does it fit the description of being a good light for a closet. I would not recommend this for a closet - it really produces only accent lighting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly as described, July 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: RiteLite LPL1060MW Wireless 9-LED Tri Accent Light with Optional Motion Sensor (Tools & Home Improvement)
I saw these lights before ordering mine, and knew the motion sensor was not long range. Works perfectly for what I wanted. The only negative was right after receiving my order, I got an email from Amazon listing some sellers who were selling them in a package of three for much cheaper than what I paid for three separately. I would have bought them in a package of three if I had found them during the search.

I have the same problem as other reviewers, I purchased to give light at night in the bathroom and other strategic places in the house. You have to almost touch it to get the light to come on. Not much use...at least they'll go back to where I bought them for a no-questions asked refund. But beware of the limitations. They only get an extra star because they did disclose this limitation in the product literature....it's just that it's buried and that's not what people need motion detection lights for.
