I have three upper kitchen cabinets which are not connected. Each one has an outlet, and all three outlets are controlled by a single switch. I had a single 10-Watt halogen bulb under each cabinet, each with it's own transformer in the cabinet. While providing adequate light, the transformers (from an Swedish home furnishings store) kept breaking. They charge $20 for shipping, so that wasn't an option, since I already went through three of them in 6 months.

These lights use 5 Watts using the transformer. The 3 spots can be moved individually, and the on/off switch also has a dimmer setting (not sure why - seems useless). The power-switch remembers its setting, so you can use these with a controlled outlet.

They do not provide as much light as the halogens - the LED lights are quite focused whereas the halogen light was much better diffused. That said, the do what they're advertised at, and the price of two of these, with transformers, was less than the shipping on one replacement halogen transformer.

So far I've only used batteries and hook-and-loop fasteners, but I plan on permanently installing them this weekend. They come with a two transformers and two connector cables, as well as 12 batteries, hook-and-loop tape, even mounting screws. The temporary fasteners don't hold very well. If you plan on using these with the provided screws and transformers, they should work quite well. As always, the higher the cost, the better the product. For now, I'm pleasantly surprised at the cost/benefit ratio. I'm waiting for the 4-light one to arrive after the holidays.

Do not plan to use these as your only kitchen illumination, and plan on stocking up if you want to use the batteries. But otherwise, they seem very well made and perform their task in my kitchen very well.

Didn't much care for the bluish tint lighting this has. But other than that is seemed ok
