This is the brightest battery-powered LED multi-directional light I've found, and I've tested about a dozen. Forget about those lights with 3-10 LEDs (except the Pelion, which is good for small spaces like food cupboards or under the sink).

it only uses 3 AA batteries and sheds so much light without having to turn on the room light. i use it to change CDs in the dark. what a bright little spotlight for just one watt. batteries last forever, too.

When I first received this item, it was very bright, but the quality left a lot to be desired. After an hour or so, it started to dim. I could not understand why, I put fresh batteries in. Ten minutes later, it died. It sucked the life out of the batteries. The product description mentioned the life span of the L.E.D., but said nothing of the life span of the batteries.

These are an amazing little versatile light. I use them in an exterior shed with three my shed it lit up like day time. They are easy to install and very versatile. The light they shine and swivel base make them very flexible and gives me the ability to work whenever I need to in my shed. Great product.

An excellent light! One of the best.

I've purchased many different LED lights over the years, this is one of the best. It is an excellent value. For once you get a quality LED that actually performs as described (many do not). Yes, it's plastic, but it is well made, a good design, and works very well. The one watt LED is very bright and casts a strong, brilliant beam. The switch can be held down to dim/brighten the beam. It is highly directional (i.e. like a spot light) and the base and swivel work exactly as described.

It makes an excellent accent light as others have described here. It also makes a handy work light as it is light, very portable, very bright and can be easily set down and aimed where needed. It's better than most of the LED flash lights I have, so I keep one setting nearby as a handy emergency light.

For once I am completely satisfied and feel like I have truly gotten my money's worth. You can even buy these in a 3-unit pack (at much lower cost per unit) with a remote control! I don't give out 5 stars readily, but this product truly deserves it.

Note: I bought both the XL and non-XL versions and can see no difference between them, so just buy whichever is cheaper.

I only used this light for a few minutes a day and it ate up its 3 batteries in a week. This happened twice before I wised up and tossed it. The light was pretty dim too.

They sell a pack of 3 with a remote for 21.?? but the one cost 15.?? not a good deal for the price.

I purchased 6 of these for my wedding, to shine up the walls for up-lighting. They all worked great for that. They are really bright, lightweight, and versatile. After the wedding we divided them up to use in closets and for spotlights for projects in the dark. I love that they use normal batteries, so we don't have to buy any special batteries for it. The battery compartment is a little tough to get into and to close, but otherwise I have no complaints about these.
