I'd recommend this to clinicians and those who continue to deny the existence of ritual abuse. Survivors and their allies may find some validation in their experiences and this may be helpful to them. It has extensive lists of facts proving the validity of ritual abuse while framing it in a clear historical context.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Consequences and Ramifications of Ritual Abuse, July 16, 2008
This review is from: Ritual Abuse in the Twenty-First Century: Psychological, Forensic, Social, and Political Considerations (Paperback)
Rand and Pamela Noblitt have brought together, in this one book, important writings from two dozen international, multidisciplinary team members. They are experts on the psychological, forensic, social and political consequences and ramifications of ritual abuse. These authors provide background information and stories of individuals to help give the reader a clearer understanding of ritual abuse in modern times.

The book explores cross-cultural reports of abusive ritual life threatening abusive ordeals, a redefining of the confusion of language toward the end of moving toward a greater clarity and uniformity in terminology, and an informed discussion of available literature regarding international reports of abuse.

Diagnosis, controversy, cult brain washing, satanic abuse, police and media handling, prayer, inner healing, patterns in mind control, and therapy are also discussed in detail.

I found the case studies to be insightful, informational, and helpful. The work is thoroughly researched and well documented. The final thoughts and conclusion at the end of each chapter are significant both in questions answered and in unanswered questions raised. I found the chapters on prayer, healing, and survivors to be pertinent and significant to me.

This is a book that should be read by mental health workers, pastors, professional counselors, political leaders, and concerned laymen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Debunks the Urban Myth that ritual abuse is "only urban myth", December 21, 2008

Noblitt & Perskin have collected an amazing array of authors from around the world to address some of the complexity of ritual abuse. It's a relief that people are finally beginning to realize, that this kind of violoence does exist, and has a variety of motives. The one that "gets" me the worst, is the use of small children for prostitution & violent pornography.

The efforts & compassion of the mental health practitioners who treat this population is inspiring. The chapter on the Extreme Abuse Survey will touch you to your core. Every author's chapter will have an impact. I learned more than I ever thought I would from this book, and painful tho that was at times, it's a good thing, because there is hope that this kind of travesty, brought to the light of day, can be stopped. This book is another step in that direction. Powerful, convincing, hopeful, respectful, compassionate.

Very few books on the subject of ritual abuse - also known as extreme abuse - have been so painstakingly and objectively researched and documented. Randall Noblitt and Pamela Perskin have clearly put a tremendous amount of dedicated effort into making this volume a quality resource for researchers, students, law enforcement officers, media professionals, mental health professionals, extreme abuse survivors and their loved ones, and everyone in-between. The editors included quality materials from seasoned researchers, mental health professionals, investigators, journalists,and veteran survivors who have proven their merit over the past 20 years of consistent and devoted advocacy work. Kudos to the editors and contributors for their top-notch work.

These authors publish credible studies and important data. Great piece of work. It brings so many of us up-to-date on what's new in this field of study. I also recommend the older book by Margaret Smith, "Ritual Abuse: What it is, Why it Happens, How to Help" for that study's information. [...]

I'd recommend this to clinicians and those who continue to deny the existence of ritual abuse. Survivors and their allies may find some validation in their experiences and this may be helpful to them. It has extensive lists of facts proving the validity of ritual abuse while framing it in a clear historical context.

While the extensive documentation and supportive research will silence any serious critics, the book is detached from individual survivors experiences and fails to connect the reader with the ongoing horrors many continue to endure. The survivors accounts were the most informative chapters and I wish more were included. Overall, it was concise and well written. I'd recommend A Safe Passage to Healing by Crystine Oksana and A Nation Betrayed by Carol Rutz for those seeking more information and support.

1.0 out of 5 stars abusive book, September 24, 2009
This review is from: Ritual Abuse in the Twenty-First Century: Psychological, Forensic, Social, and Political Considerations (Paperback)
The sub-title says it all: psychological, forensic, social and political considerations. Clearly they know nothing practical - or are unwilling to be of use to those who are so in need of a helping hand. That is abusive to those who have been so badly abused.

Not convinced by my initial reaction? OK, here are some of the chapter titles:
- Redefining the Language of Ritual Abuse and the Politics that Dictate It
- Re-envisioning the Debate on Ritual Abuse
- Terrorism is the Ritual Abuse of the 21st Century (tell THAT to someone who has been repeatedly tortured and raped since babyhood!)
- The Use of Prayer for Inner Healing of Memories and Deliverance with Ritual Abuse Survivors

Where is the practical help? The ONLY worthwhile part of this book is the last 50 pages, which is a first person account; NOT for the squeamish.

According to Fritz Springmeier who has books available on the internet about the 13 bloodlines and about ritual abuse (the latter is "The Illuminati Formula Used to Create a Total Mind Controlled Slave" - he has been jailed for his efforts), over 50% of therapists in this arena are double-agents. I am not surprised, given what I have learned.

If you are seeking genuine help, read Springmeier's free internet book and also Swerdlow's books, especially "True Reality of Sexuality" and "13-Cubed". Also, see the Mind Control DVDs on the Expansions website (search Swerdlow + Expansions) - any one of the several on offer will put your knowledge at a different level.

For, if you are personally interested (not into it for money/career, like the posturing - or worse - contributors to this book, that is) in Ritual Abuse, my friend, (even if you tell yourself it is curiosity) then you almost certainly need correct information. As a survivor (nay, a surpasser, as he calls himself), Swerdlow's information is truly in a different league - he shares occult information that is used in these rituals, and which also must be used to start recovery. (No, I don't benefit from this impassioned review, but I hope you will.)

P.S. Now highly recommending The Revolutionary Trauma Release Process by David Berceli - uniquely, gets dozens of unanimously 5 star reviews! "The Emotion Code" could also be useful.

Later note: I have found "The Healing Code" by Lloyd to be THE only emotional healing technique that really works. For me, it only works with specific experiences rather than general health, but that alone is a stunning benefit, given that the more famous methods like EFT and NLP have not worked at all for me (and others I am in touch with).

5.0 out of 5 stars incredible book - a must read - conclusively proves ritual abuse exists, January 26, 2009
This review is from: Ritual Abuse in the Twenty-First Century: Psychological, Forensic, Social, and Political Considerations (Paperback)
This book is a groundbreaking book in the field of ritual abuse and mind control. In an era where there is a great deal of disinformation on these topics, this book shines through as an excellent source of information backed by research and experience. This book is a must read. It is validating for survivors of ritual abuse as well as those that work with them. I strongly recommend this classic book, which combines some of the most important research of the beginning of the 21st century on this topic.

5.0 out of 5 stars I used to believe..., September 19, 2009
By
Mark C. (Seattle, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ritual Abuse in the Twenty-First Century: Psychological, Forensic, Social, and Political Considerations (Paperback)
that ritual abuse was a sporadic thing;
Then I watched a TV interview with a Police detective who claimed it was VERY widespread;
Now I believe it is all around us and leads all the way up to the Bush Whitehouse
(Anyone keep track that it was mostly "Family values" type Republicans and Clergy who were continually arrested in stings for pedophilia, cruising for underage prostitutes-M&F etc over the past 10 years

-Democrats at least stick with adultery- with consenting legal age females) But guess what Neoconservative screech loudest about-thats right-ADULTery. Odd, innit?

There was a lecture given at a bonafide Convention of Mental Health Professionals way back in 1988-now on the internet, by a U of UTAH PhD on his studies of Satanic and ritual sexual abuse by an unnamed group that he discovered quite by accident.
Even more mysterious is how completely and quickly he dropped the subject.
Maybe thats why he and his family are still alive and well-and he *still works at U of UTAH* not a place that humours 'nutcases' with employment;
It is called THE GREENBAUM LECTURE/REPORT there are 2 versions: a complete transcript, and an edited version for survivors, with trigger words cut out so that they might read it without too much upset or restimulation
Oddity: years later, reading about Jo Bennet Ramsay- I was stunned to read that she had been seen been a "Dr Green"
There may be no connection-but given the context it is not a large leap to put connect

A nutter would have been allowed to go on-so we are not seeing that here;

The OMAHA NB, child kidnapping murder/Franklin Banking scandal was a breaking story when-what do you know-GW #1 broke out-under Bush Sr
Under another Bush-a huge banking scandal was about to break when what do you know-some cave dwelling hunters and gathering, camel riding arabs learned to get through sophisticated security and fly 3-jets into buildings
and we forgot about the Banks and went to war.
