4.0 out of 5 stars If u r into The G.D. then this book is definately recomended
For anyone who is truly interested in The Golden Dawn this book should definately become part of your magickal library. The book itself is divided into nine parts, some of which are- astral projection, (two parts on)Rosicrucian, Christian occultism,Hermetic wisdomand mystical prayer, among others. You do need to be familiar with at least the basics of golden dawn...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disapointed
I have the Golden Dawn Manual, so to speak . It's a great book. This book " Ritual Magic of the Golden Dawn" was not well written or edited. However, I was able to retrieve a few nuggets of knowledge sporadically.

For anyone who is truly interested in The Golden Dawn this book should definately become part of your magickal library. The book itself is divided into nine parts, some of which are- astral projection, (two parts on)Rosicrucian, Christian occultism,Hermetic wisdomand mystical prayer, among others. You do need to be familiar with at least the basics of golden dawn philosophy before you can really grasp the majority of these writings. many of the collected works contained in this book were at one time closely guarded secrets of the Golden Dawn and some would probably not be available at all if not for this book. anyone who had something bad to say about this book probably either didn't understand it or didn't get what they expected. this is a good book and much of it is simply necessary reading for any serious golden dawn follower or ceremonial magickician. PEACE TO ALL BEINGS-AND FOREVER IN LOVE.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Good !, November 17, 1999
This review is from: Ritual Magic of the Golden Dawn: Works by S. L. MacGregor Mathers and Others (Paperback)
This book should be one of the occult classics. It's both magically and historically interessting as it reveals most of the flying rolls to the earlier G.'.D.'. Instructions are given with examples on how it has been and are used.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only a nice cover..., March 24, 2004
This review is from: Ritual Magic of the Golden Dawn: Works by S. L. MacGregor Mathers and Others (Paperback)
I expected this book to be much better than it really is. Its a collection of lectures on various esoteric subjects but they are definetely not well written. I expected to find rituals and practical magick, as the title implied "Ritual Magic of the Golden Dawn", but all I found were various chaotic teachings and magickal tips. The part on astral projection as those on clairvoyance, are confusing and dont include any systematical information. It became very difficult to read this book and I often wondered if the authors had any spiritual experiences or not... Much of the information presented in the book is a part of the indian tantric tradition, but its presented here in a very limited way, often having changed the original occult terms. What is the Golden Dawn? Which are its organized esoteric teachings? This book failed to answer these questions.
