Ritz Gourmet Collection 3-Piece Mitz and Thumb Mitt Set

I wanted to like these. And, at first use, we did. The mitt is a good size, comfortable, worked okay when I pulled a pan out of the oven. The two little pads are just that, little. not the traditional size, but I actually kinda liked them, even though you have to think a little more with them.

But then after only a few days, we started noticing that if you held a pan very long with the small mitts, they just got too hot. They're really too thin.

And then the final straw: my wife slipped the thumb mitt *over* the handle of a pan, so that the handle went *inside* the mitt. A very common thing to do actually. And the inside of the mitt melted.

So I returned them to Amazon as defective and will look somewhere else. As should you.

Colors are Sage green & Cream. Good quality/thick material. The only surprise for me was that the thumb mitts actually have a semi-circle pocket sewn in, for the thumb on one side. When I need to quickly grab an oven mitt, I don't really like having to stop and look to see which side is which to put it on... but it takes a fraction of a second more so it's not that big of an inconvenience.

had to be designed by a real cook. great padding, perfect flexibility, brilliant shape for the pads (more oblong), right size.....just realizing i need to get more as gifts!

These are awesome! I got these for a gift for my mother-in-law. They look nice and work very well. I would recommend these to anybody.
