Rival bags are as good as or better than Food Saver bags. I use them in the Food Saver sealer with great success.

We purchased this to start using a meal sealer that was left behind in the new house we just moved into. There were some individual bags left behind, but we had used most of the bags and needed more.
These are great, just the right size wide and we can make them any size long. Using these bags with a seal a meal unit works much better than the zip lock bags we had been using for freezer items. No frost and the freezer items are much fresher.
We do not have a Rival unit, but these bags would fit most any seal a meal machine.

Best price, best bags, I did my homework. They perform very well, are roomy, perfect for my seal-a-meal. I even seal food, cut open the bag, serve some of the food, and re-seal it again. Works great, no problems. Fast shipping, and very sturdy bags!

I just want to say I am not sure why the person who lost a piece of the product in her (Dawn Ulepich "Dawnski337" (Illinois)) haste is criticizing the company for a bad product. I have only had one problem ever with a Rival product and when I called the company, they immediately sent a new product out to take care of the problem even though it was not a product problem but rather a handling problem. I have found that they are a more than fair company and will take care of their customers. They probably would have even taken care of replacement of the plastic part (even though she lost it). It is not fair to penalize the store from which it was bought or the company that produced it because of her carelessness.

I bought the Rival Vacuum Sealer when it was the Gold Box Deal of the day. I also bought a box of these Seal-a-meal bag rolls to use with it. These bags were easy to use and were the perfect size for my machine. I've found that you can't be cheap with the amount of bag that you use because the juices in the meat tries to seep out during the vacuum stage and it can compromise the integrity of the seal. I like that you can write on the bags and that the item inside is very easy to see and identify. I've heard you can re-use bags but I'm a bit skeptical. That would all depend on how easy it proves to be to clean them and dry them between uses. As I only use this system for food storage, it pays for itself by helping to eliminate waste. Since the bags are the expensive item in the equation, shopping around for them makes good sense.

This is a very good quality product. It is a heavy guage material so it doesn't rip or fall apart when in contact with other products in your freezer. Because my sealing machine used a much flimsier material I have to press the sealer a couple times to cut it which is no problem for a much better product.

I've used Food Saver brand as well as Rival brand. I had nothing but problems with air leaks in Food Saver brand but not a single problem with Rival brand so I'm sticking with this.

Since I don't like buying pre-cut bags, these rolls have been great. I can cut out the length I need and seal them into a bag. They've worked relatively well, but a few times the vacuum sealer hasn't been able to form a proper seal - the plastic will partially melted together, but it won't form a proper vacuum seal. And I've had some sealed packages come apart in the fridge before.

Since I haven't tried using a different vacuum sealer, I don't know if the issues are due to my sealer or these bags - but since they work well the majority of the time, I can't complain too much. Just keep in mind that you'll always need to cut a few inches more than you think you do, otherwise the bag just won't be big enough to properly seal it.
