5.0 out of 5 stars love this!
This was given to me as a christmas gift and I just love it! I had a different griddle but this one is so much nicer for several reasons. First because you can fold it up it is easier to store. Also the cooking surface seems to stay the same temperature over the whole surface. It isn't cooler near the edges like my old one. The cooking surface comes off for easy...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rival foldable griddle
It is a nice and handy product to have and it works well enough to consider it acceptable. One advantage of it is that it folds and does not require too much storage place. I can not rave about it like other reviewers did since I can compare with another one I still have (but getting too old) a Wolfgang Puck Griddle and it does not even come close in performance. The...

This was given to me as a christmas gift and I just love it! I had a different griddle but this one is so much nicer for several reasons. First because you can fold it up it is easier to store. Also the cooking surface seems to stay the same temperature over the whole surface. It isn't cooler near the edges like my old one. The cooking surface comes off for easy cleaning (nonstick too!). Couldn't be easier than that!! I also like that I can have two different temperatures. Cook pancakes on one side and eggs on the other. I think this is a good size too. Not too big and not too small. I can easily cook 8 pancakes at a time and have plenty of room for turning them. I am very happy with this product!

I bought this for my daughter who has 3 boys, a husband and lots of company. Both sides of the griddle work at independent temperatures or can be used together at one temperature. Simply marvelous to be able to cook different items on one grill at their own temperature setting. The only complaint we had was the drip cup for catching extra grease (ex - hamburgers) was really too shallow and had to be watched in case of overflow AND the freight charges were also over-the-top. Aside from that, the product itself was great! Storage is not a problem as it folds up and fits nicely in a regular cabinet with its teflon surfaces protected from other items. Get it - you'll be glad you did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good deal for the money, February 8, 2008

I needed something I could cook pancakes, bacon and sausage on in my law office as we often pull "all nighters" preparing for the next day in court. This thing was inexpensive and does the job well. I give it 4 stars not 5 for 2 reasons. First, I do not recommend it for cooking hamburgers as it does not remove enough grease. I use a George Foreman grill for that and the Foreman grill does a better job of getting rid of unwanted fat and grease. Second, when cooking sausage on this thing, the griddle plates are removable and easy to clean. But the grease splatters at times and when it does it gets on the rest of the unit, especially where the temp dials are at the front. Not hard to clean, but a pain in the neck. I highly recommend this for pancakes, bacon, fried hot dogs and stuff like that. Very happy overall. I would also note that although this is a folding griddle, it is not a "contact" griddle. In other words, you cannot use it in the folded position at all, unlike say a George Foreman grill. You must lay it out flat to use it, then fold it after cleaning to store it. Takes up little space when folded

So far have only made pancakes, but every time they've come out perfect. Cleans so easy---plates come off and just into the sink or dishwasher--haven't yet needed dishwasher as its so easy in the sink.

I can not rave about it like other reviewers did since I can compare with another one I still have (but getting too old) a Wolfgang Puck Griddle and it does not even come close in performance. The claimed non stick surfaces of this griddle stick pretty badly when making pancakes. I probably will wind up getting another one of the Wolfgang Puck griddle which is not foldable but miles ahead in performance of this unit.

4.0 out of 5 stars What's Cokken'?, December 28, 2008

We've waited to give feedback for nearly a full year so that we could use it and not give an out-of-the-box WOW, or a one-experience-Dud review.

To date this griddle has worked very well and we have been pleased with its performance. Though we have not used it for heavy duty cooking, as it is usually myself and my wife, everything we have used it for gets cooked evenly and, so far, clean up has been easy and the nonstick surface has not deteiorated.

Over all we would say it is excellent for medium level use we put it to.

The reason I give it only 4 stars has to do w/ the grill plates being a bit thin. Due to this they don't store a lot of heat, however they Recover Very Quickly, without producing hot spots. An important aspect so you don't end up w/ half the food burned and half under cooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Appliance Exceeded My Expectations!, August 3, 2007
This review is from: Rival GRF405 Fold-n-Store Griddle (Kitchen)
I bought this griddle to use for an office breakfast reception, grabbing the first item I saw in the store! I trusted the RIVAL brand name, and took a chance! Surprise! The griddle is a perfect wonder! This ingenious appliance is a snap to use, easy to operate, and cleans up quickly! We made 2 dozen pancakes, and 1 dozen eggs, including scrambled and over-easy in about 20 minutes! My VP was sure impressed, and our reception was a success! I recommend this product to all!

This is a wonderful product...cooks evenly...easily cleaned and great to store. We use it for our yearly camping trips. This is a replacement for one that was dropped and cracked. The only problem with buying this item from Amazon was the incredibly high shipping charge.

I like the Fold N Store Griddle. The removable cooking area is a much easier way to clean, and the size is large enough to cook a lot at once or several different things. Can also cook at two different temperatures at the same time. I would purchase it again.
