I bought this iron to get my uniforms looking sharp. I didn't want to spend a ton on an iron because I plan on leaving it here for others to use when I do go back home. For the price you will not be disapointed. It fills up easy, hasn't leaked water on my clothes, heats up quick, and the cord is long enough so that I'm not ironing on the wall. There are enough fabric settings for most persons needs, it glides over the clothes smoothly. I can't think of any problems with it.

Okay for a cheap iron.
Cons: Leaks easily from the hole when moving iron back and forth while ironing and clothes get soaked.
Pros: Extremely light weight. Heats up quickly.

As with an earlier review, I bought a similar unit from Wally World for the price of a fast food combo. The idea was to have a backup iron after the $13 and $25 Black & Deckers from the same place proved incapable of quick and plentiful steam. This iron is 1100 watts, fairly light, produces steam within 20 seconds, doesn't shut off too quickly, and has above-average steam output.

Compared to my workhorse late-80s GE model, the two have the same power output, but the GE doesn't heat up quite as fast because the soleplate is thicker. That added thickness provides weight and better heat retention and distribution. The Rival's steam output isn't quite as high, nor is the soleplate as polished. On my first use, I managed to get some cloth residue stuck to it that took a fair bit of scrubbing with a towel to remove.

Amazon's version has a non-stick soleplate, so even that issue would be avoided. Verdict: excellent iron for occasional use. If it breaks in the next few months, I'll update.

This is the worst iron. Spend a little more for a better iron. It does not get hot enough and water pours out of it.

This is the absolute worst purchase I've ever made. I never got so angry at anything before that I wanted to throw out the window so bad! I couldn't get through ironing ONE shirt without cussing 10 times. It leaks water everywhere! Pathetic! Very disappointed in this product.

This iron is awesome! It doesn't spill water all over my clothes! Heats up super fast! And the steam works great. I actually bought mine from Wally World for $6.50. I was so shocked by the quality of iron I jumped on amazon to see how much it was selling for here. Try finding it at Walmart before you get it here folks!

I bought this iron from Walmart last night when I was looking for an emergency iron and ironing board. I read the manual carefully and started testing it out this morning. The iron is very light but the heating plate is not too small, think of it as an S sized regular iron, and the water tank holds enough water for more than half an hour of usage. With my distracted ironing speed I got two dress shirts and a pair of slacks done without a problem. I'm sure most people would be able to iron more than that with one tank. The water tank does not come with a cover but an anti-spill design which I love. Super convenient! Of course that restrains your ability to brandish the iron around, but I imagine most people wouldn't find that a problem. One thing I noticed was the horizontal max water level mark on the water tank, and it's approximately at half a tank's level if you lay the iron flat, so careful not to overfill it. The power cord is really long for a small iron and it never got in my way, the heating plate heated up almost immediately after I turned it on, the temperature dial turns really smoothly and makes a tiny clicking sound so you know it's turning, and the spray mist is an absolute joy to use. For a person who doesn't iron a lot of clothes at a time and wants the job quickly done, this is the perfect iron. I absolutely love it!

By the way, it is not a heavy duty sturdy build, I imagine it is good for regular usage but can't take much of abuse. It comes with a limited one year warranty printed in the manual. In case anything happens.

This iron is a little gem. If you still have to iron (like I do :( ) then make it a bit easier with this product. I also like the cord even! Never gets in my way. Great little iron.
