Good Iron,

I bought this iron to get my uniforms looking sharp. I didn't want to spend a ton on an iron because I plan on leaving it here for others to use when I do go back home. For the price you will not be disapointed. It fills up easy, hasn't leaked water on my clothes, heats up quick, and the cord is long enough so that I'm not ironing on the wall. There are enough fabric settings for most persons needs, it glides over the clothes smoothly. I can't think of any problems with it.

Okay for a cheap iron.
Cons: Leaks easily from the hole when moving iron back and forth while ironing and clothes get soaked. Pros: Extremely light weight. Heats up quickly.

This is the worst iron. Spend a little more for a better iron. It does not get hot enough and water pours out of it.

I purchase the Rival IR999 in July at a reasonable price and it is an excellent iron with proper material settings and very lightweight and easy to handle with my arthritis.
Hi Highly recommend this product and also purchasing it through Amazon with quick delivery.

Great Iron,
This review is from: Rival IR999 Steam Wave Non-Stick Soleplate Iron with 180-Degree Pivot Cord (Kitchen)
This iron is awesome! It doesn't spill water all over my clothes! Heats up super fast! And the steam works great. I actually bought mine from Wally World for $6.50. I was so shocked by the quality of iron I jumped on amazon to see how much it was selling for here. Try finding it at Walmart before you get it here folks!

This iron is a little gem. If you still have to iron (like I do :( ) then make it a bit easier with this product. I also like the cord even! Never gets in my way. Great little iron.

Shockingly decent,

As with an earlier review, I bought a similar unit from Wally World for the price of a fast food combo. The idea was to have a backup iron after the $13 and $25 Black & Deckers from the same place proved incapable of quick and plentiful steam. This iron is 1100 watts, fairly light, produces steam within 20 seconds, doesn't shut off too quickly, and has above-average steam output.
My gold standard for irons is a late-80s GE model. It's the same power output, but doesn't heat up quite as fast because the soleplate is thicker. That added thickness provides weight and better heat retention and distribution. The Rival's steam output isn't quite as high, nor is the soleplate as polished. On my first use, I managed to get some cloth residue stuck to it that took a fair bit of scrubbing with a towel to remove. Amazon's version has a non-stick soleplate, so even that issue would be avoided. Verdict: excellent iron for occasional use. If it breaks in the next few months, I'll update.

Ruined my shirt,
This review is from: Rival IR999 Steam Wave Non-Stick Soleplate Iron with 180-Degree Pivot Cord (Kitchen)
I had only had this iron for about a month. I was ironing my cheap clothes and then when I had moved on to ironing my expensive designer shirt that I have only worn twice, the GD iron's non-stick teflon decided to adhere itself to my shirt! A $200 shirt ruined in seconds! I was screaming mad. Spend the extra $ and get a decent iron or you will regret it.

Terrible,
This review is from: Rival IR999 Steam Wave Non-Stick Soleplate Iron with 180-Degree Pivot Cord (Kitchen)
This doesn't get very hot. The steam setting is impossible to use, if you ever move it from the no steam setting you can never get it to go back and it leaks water constantly. Just spend a few more bucks to get something that actually works.
