5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, but there is a learning curve
I had first purchased Reynolds' Handi Vac system as it was compact, inexpensive and an effective system. Unfortunately, Reynolds discontinued the Handi Vac and I had to look elsewhere. When I finally settled on the Seal A Meal system, there was a learning curve, viz., how to close it so it would work! I considered returning it, thinking that I had received a dud, but a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Rival VS125-S Seal-a-Meal
This product doesn't live up to its claims. You have to hold the lid down tight since the lock only works on one side and the little place where you put the bag over for suction doesn't stay down so that it vacuums well. It doesn't vacuum all of the air out and the bags are still loose when you're finished. Shop around for a better value.

I considered returning it, thinking that I had received a dud, but a little playing proved me wrong (firmly press with the heel of both palms on both front corners) and make sure that the left edge of the bag is cheek to jowel against the nozzle. Do this and it works as advertised. I wouldn't be without it.

This is very time consuming due to lining up the suction port just right.
