This clock is very beautiful to look at. It has clean lines and the wood is good. The best thing about it is you don't have to set the clock, ever. Just pop in a battery and that's it. I would recommend it to anyone.

This item deserves 5 Stars! This radio-controlled mantle clock is nicely detailed in solid oak. It was purchased to give as a gift & the recipient really liked the styling & accurate time. Super-fast shipping & packed securely. I think I may buy another one for myself! Thank you.

First of all, the small pictures available online do not do this clock any justice. The workmanship is flawless. I expected it to be pretty nice becuase of other reviewer's comments, but I had no idea just how good-looking this clock was until I had it in my hands. It has a very contemporary look and feel to it with a traditional, retro-style. It is also surprisingly lightweight for its size, but that is probably because the entire center has been carved-out for the clock and the whole thing is not very thick. Everyone that sees it has nice comments about it.
As far as the clock itself: I put the battery in and, per the instructions, the hands advanced to 8:00 then stopped. I placed it on the shelf and about 1/2 hour later I looked and it had synchronized with the atomic clock's radio signal and was keeping time already (the last atomic clock I bought - different brand - took overnight to synchronize)! I had to press the time zone button on the back to get it to advance to central time and it has been working just fine since then.
One word of warning: this clock will only work in the US Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones and has a button to disable daylight saving time. This is not spelled-out very well in the item's description online.

This is a nice clock. Sets itself and keeps good time. Nice looking anywhere and would make a nice gift. Another thing that makes it nice, is , that you know it has the correct time, so you can set all your other clocks by it.

This mantle clock is very attractive and looks just as good as the high priced models. Since it is atomic time and reset autimatically every night you always know the correct time. It is a carefree clock whether the electricity has gone out or day light savings time comes along. It is nice to know the mantle clock is correct no matter what is going on and it still has that period decoration look.

Clock is heavy duty and very nice to look at, and it works great! Well worth the money.

When daylight savings time in November, 2007 came, the clock did not adjust. I live in CA, so I can't force the time to correct by adjusting the time zone. Does anyone know how to change the time?

EDIT on 11/13/07: I was able to adjust the time by turning off the daylight savings time mode. I looked up the manual via a link here on Amazon. The DST is an unmarked, small button. Not very convenient. If you can keep the DST settings in synch, this is a great product.

Wonderful clock. Keeps great time. Arrived on time. I'd buy another one. It's very pretty too.

I purchased this clock when we redecorated our great room. The solid oak case is heavy and well finished. I could not get my clock to set itself automatically, guess I'm too far away from Colorado. I called the company and they were glad to help me set it manually. Very accurate.

My noisy battery operated wall clock annoyed my husband. It also kept inaccurate time. An Amazon gift card for Christmas led me to purchase this mantel clock. It was in my price range, it wasn't too tall (I have a large picture over my mantel), it was a classic and classy design, was accurate and guess what.....not noisy! I have only had it a month, but it certainly fits my needs and lifestyle perfectly and it didn't break the bank.
