Now I don't care what anyone else says, even though River Raid was designed by a woman it turned out to be one of the greatest games released from Activision. It was banned in Germany untill recently when Activision wanted to release a greatest hits collection for PS3 so they had it renamed and re released. It was always my favorite Atari game as a kid in the early 80's and still remains to be one of my favorites because it stands the test of time so well. The controls are perfect and the ever changing river scenery is really cool compared to games that dont even have second levels. The object of the game is to blow up the bridges crossing the river to halt enemy advancements and blow away any enemy helecopters and ships on the way keeping an eye on your fuel for the refueling stations that become few and far the further up the river you go and unlike most Atari games this game actually does have an ending. A very fun game and the more skilled at it you become the more it becomes addicting. Happy gaming my fellow River Raiders.

Hit or miss!!!,
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: River Raid (Video Game)
I know some people who really enjoy this game. I on the other hand do not. I find it repetitive. You are just going up this river and everything can kill you and you have all these fuel options that may get you killed if you go for it. And when you finally do want to pick up a fuel canister, a bad guy manages to jump in front of it and get destroyed in the cross fire. Yeah...I really don't like this game, but I do own a copy. And it does play on the 7800!!!
