Editorial Reviews

Join Morrall River Films as they paddle 30 day trips on 26 rivers, all located in the beautiful geologically diverse region of Southern Wisconsin. Here you will find a wide range of topography and scenery, from the rivers to the west that have carved their path through tall rocky bluffs to the ones in the southeast coursing their way through the abundant lakes, ponds, and wildlife rich marshes.
Your hosts Mark and Merri Morrall share a love for paddling these streams. It is their hope that this DVD will inspire you to paddle some of the best rivers and creeks that Southern Wisconsin has to offer.
They created this two hour, two disc, DVD guide book as a more substantial method for getting a feel for paddling these streams. You can read a book or view maps but that won't give you a proper perspective on what the river is really like. This DVD will broaden the scope. Use it as a tool to match your own paddling experience and skill level to your trip desires.
The rivers they have chosen to share with you vary greatly in character, each one having its own unique personality. Some are fast and technical while others are slow and peaceful. Each one of the thirty short river films on the discs range from 3½, to
4½ minutes in length. The river trips themselves range from seven to twelve miles in length, or between 3 and 6 hours of slow, enjoyable paddling.
Each river segment features information about access points with detailed driving directions between them. A comprehensive assessment of the river includes hazards such as rapids, dams, log jams, and deadfall. You will also find sound advice concerning safe water levels for paddling and where to view the river gauge data on the internet.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Touch of Home, March 16, 2011

This review is from: River Trails Of Southern Wisconsin (DVD)
This is a great taste of canoeing on the rivers in southern WI. I say taste because in order to really give you a guide to the WI rivers this set should be a 10+ DVD set. Regardless, for a displaced cheesehead this is a wonderful taste of home. The video quality is excellent, the river footage is well thought out by people who love the rivers, but the actors/presenters are acceptable. There is also a second video on northern Illinois, but I am hoping there is a third video on the rivers in northern WI.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth while video, February 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: River Trails Of Southern Wisconsin (DVD)
There are two 1 hour DVDs in this item, for streams in Eastern and Western South Wiscosin. Overall it was well done and does its job of showing the viewer what these streams look like. Video and picture quality was good. If I may make any criticism, and this is a minor issue, they may have wanted to get a better voice for the narration. There are usually a bunch of canoes floating down the river at once. Overall well done.
