This boook should come with a warning. This contains composition to the music in "riverdance" but this is not for the piano. What I mean is, there are a lot of songs in this book but most only have the melody without the left hand accompaniment. I bought this book specifically to learn how to perform riverdance on piano but now I will have to come up with my own accompaniment.

The beginning pages provide some background on each piece, describing things both artistic and technical, such as historical influences and musical structure.

As far as I can tell, the music for each piece in the book is faithful to the music from the show and has not been simplified, embellished, or rearranged for other instruments.

The book is about 8 mm thick with an inflexible hard glued spine. If you open the book, it will not naturally lie flat when placed on a music stand. You will likely need page holder clips, which makes turning pages awkward. At 400 grams, the book is also a bit heavy for some collapsible stands.

My daughter and I have been Riverdance enthusiasts for years: we've seen the show 5 times! It was wonderful to find this collection of the actual music: but don't buy this if you are not a studied musician who understands complex timing, key changes, etc. It's the real deal -- which is exactly what I was looking for. Includes words for the vocal selections, lead lines for the amazing instrumentals, etc. Love it : )

Book is nicely bound and printing is clear. Would be nice to have been spiral bound. A nice representation of the music. Includes tabulatur for guitar.
