5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Calendar to Manage Our Household
I have used verious versions of the program for well over a decade and Version 8 for several years. It is a great way to manage our family calendar. With a color printer it has gone from "perfect" to "spectacular". We don't begin to use its graphic features so I have no idea how it works for a "fancy wall hanging commercial type calendar." But to manage a VERY busy...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK...but, I hoped for better.
As long as you are happy with the default templates, this program does fine. It makes some nice calendars and is easy to use right out of the box. Just don't try to customize anything. Changing cell size, adding multiple images, deleting cells, or changing the page setup is impossible. Changing printer output is challenging. All you get is the CD - no user guide...

Who wants to print help files? I haven't purchased any other Calendar maker software, so I can't compare it. Maybe the deluxe version is better, but I'll try another program instead.

I can't believe they couldn't do better. This program looks like it was written 10 or 12 years ago. If you are a complete newbie you may find this easy to use software a good place to start. If you want to be creative - look elsewhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars They Coulda Done Better, September 8, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Calendar Creator 8 (CD-ROM)
I've used most versions of Calendar Creator since version 1. I recently upgraded to Calendar Creator 8 from version 4 because version 4 won't run under Windows XP. I found that version 8 wouldn't import my version 4 data. I find version 8 much harder and less intuitive to use than the older versions. The box says it'll export data for use in a webpage. Wrong. Ya gotta spend extra for the deluxe version for that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Calendar to Manage Our Household, November 7, 2005
This review is from: Calendar Creator 8 (CD-ROM)
I have used verious versions of the program for well over a decade and Version 8 for several years. It is a great way to manage our family calendar. With a color printer it has gone from "perfect" to "spectacular". We don't begin to use its graphic features so I have no idea how it works for a "fancy wall hanging commercial type calendar." But to manage a VERY busy household of two parents, several kids, lot of activities, lots of practices, lots of competitions, lots of kids work schedules, lots and lots of conflicts - well it could not be better.

We use lots of sub-categories which makes it perfect to have automatic fonts/colors/styles to distinctively tell you who has to be to which type of event ("I must", "I should", "I might", "my spouse", "kids sports", "kids employment", etc.).

It is easy to enter an event: go to the date, hit ctrl-a and put in the time and description. Easy to make it a repeating event by clicking on the repeating button and then making the regular (annual birthday) or irregular (play performances Thur, Fri, Sat this week & next)specifications.

I have never used the help function so I don't know how good it easy - the program has been easy enough.

One of our favorite features is the ease of showing the same data in many different formats. All year on 1 page for things like birthdays. 10-12 weeks on one page as the kids turn in their work availability to their jobs. 5-6 weeks at a time for the regular family calendar (a month at a time has never seemed the most effective style for us).

I keep the calendar up on my computer all the time and mostly use it there. But everyone else in the family has their own printed copy which we update together as appropriate.

For an office or a network I don't know. But for a busy family it is perfect.

If you want to use the templates provided, this works ok. Customizing is a nightmare. Getting it to print correctly is almost impossible and the help is useless. I'm going to try something else.

This product may serve a home user fine. But in our network we cannot have our users needing administrative rights just to use this product. It is poorly written code in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick Service, April 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Calendar Creator 8 (CD-ROM)
I purchased Calender Creator 8, I recieved it faster than promised.. But.. The USPS managed to destroy it even in bubble wrap packaging. I emailed Them and got an immediate response, one I didn't expect, or at least not so quick. I was Issued a credit to my credit card the same day. I will do business with this company again.
