One of the best pop groups EVER.....,
This review is from: Rivers of Babylon (Audio CD)
In the mid to late 70s Pop World, it was Abba, the Bee Gees and Boney M in global domination. Boney M. created so many wonderful, uplifting and just plain "fun" songs. Their blend of reggae, disco, pop, world and ballads made them one of the biggest selling groups of all-time. Most Americans are unfamiliar with them, as they only had on Top 30 single, "The Rivers of Babylon". They did have a disco/club following but that faded quickly as disco left the airwaves here in the US. I highly recommend this and most every other collection availabe here on Amazon. If you like this group, check out Eruption Greatest Hits, A La Carte A La Carte and Goombaby Dance BandSun of Jamaica. All have a similar sound and quite good.

I purchased this CD for one song which I came to love during a trip to Barbados ("By the Rivers of Babylon") but was surprised to find that I like many of the cuts and find them equally uplifting and enjoyable.

Boney M is a group out of the 80s, but there is a certain quality I like. They are kind of like ABBA. Brings back memories. I bought through Amazon, primarily because I have an Amazon credit card - painless way to spend mony. Maybe too painless. lol
