5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, Effective, and Simple
This rack is simple. It simply works. I knew how nice it would be to get the kayaks properly stored, but when I put them on the rack, I was amazed at how much space is saved. My biggest curiosity going into this was whether it was worth the money or if I should use my own straps. It is worth the money. The straps are arranged just right for holding the boats and are...

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but you get what you pay for.
For $25, I guess you can't expect too much. The straps seem very sturdy. They have been holding my two double kayaks for months now and haven't snapped. My only complaint is that without something holding the loops securely together, they slide around very easily. In fact, even though I had the straps spaced properly they would still slide off the ends of my kayaks until...

My biggest curiosity going into this was whether it was worth the money or if I should use my own straps. It is worth the money. The straps are arranged just right for holding the boats and are adjustable in the right spots. But, then, I got this for $11. For every dollar I spent on this, I got more than 2 square feet of usable floor space back! Awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Design, July 29, 2009

I am an engineer, and I can appreciate the simplicity and efficiency of this design. I too wanted to assemble straps to hang my kayaks against the wall of my garage. I saw this and decided to try it since it so inexpensive. The straps are sturdy and can carry the weight of my Tandem Kayak which is about 14 feet long. I was able to adjust the length of the straps so that it fits snugly around my kayaks. I bought both the single and the double hanger so all 3 of my kayaks are out of the way. You could potentially use this to hang other long, rigid objects like surfboards.

My only complaint is that without something holding the loops securely together, they slide around very easily. In fact, even though I had the straps spaced properly they would still slide off the ends of my kayaks until I had both of the kayaks in the hanger. I will eventually be replacing this with something else, but it does the job for now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yay!! I have garage floor space again!!!, August 24, 2010

This is the best system for the price! To increase stability to hold the 100 lbs of my 12 ft and 7 ft kayaks--I bought a 12 foot 2X4 and installed it across the top - I made sure to screw this board into all the studs across the wall. This also keeps the kayaks from banging on the wall. Since I have my shorter kayak on top (it made sense to do that since it was lighter and easier to lift) I have void space on either side that i plan to utilize. I might hang my daughters bike by the back wheel--i might hang a shorter step ladder---i have many bulky things to choose from. I hope to get a picture posted somewhere here--it is a green and yellow kayak.

I was satisfied with the delivery time and the item was pretty much up to my expectations for the price.
The width of the straps were not as wide as I expected for supporting a kayak, normally they are 2 inches whereas these are 1 inch.
The description of the product was "Side release buckles increase ease of loading and unloading", this was also not what I expected.
My experience with webbing straps that have the slide release buckles have a tongue that you depress which allows the webbing to freely slide through the buckle.
These straps had just the usual press in and click to fasten the webbing together and if you wanted to adjust the tension you had to feed more strap through the buckle by changing the angle of the buckle in relation to the strap, not easy to do when you have a kayak hanging there.
In order to cinch up the strap you have to have someone support the weight of the kayak while you pull and feed the strap through the buckle.
Other than that it does the trick , but you get what you pay for so if you are without any help you might want to consider some of the other options on the market that you use to load and unload your kayak your self.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful and space saving, July 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have two sets of the single hangers. They were very easy to install and are wonderful to use. I have had no problems with the kayaks slipping out of the straps. We have had several storms with strong 50 mph winds and they worked perfectly. The kayaks are easy to get in and out of the straps. I would definitely recommend buying hooks that can carry a heavy load-I bought hooks that can each support 60 lbs. and have had no problems. Saved a lot of floor space by hanging these!

5.0 out of 5 stars No complaints, September 12, 2009

Very simple, effective design. I have it holding up a 75lb 17ft kayak, for about a month now. I haven't removed the kayak from the straps yet so I can't attest the durability of the buckles. I'm happy with it so far though and the price was very reasonable. **Update** Just wanted to come back and say that 9 months later I'm still very happy with this hanger! I've since moved it from one house to another, had my kayak in and out a few times and it's still strong. Great buy!

Definitely worth the money. Easy to install (just have to purchase 2 eyehooks) to install the hanger. Very easy to slide the kayaks into the harness; saves much room.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 kayakee holder, July 19, 2008
THis product was just as advertised. It is perfect for hanging two boats. Needs two people really to do it right, but holds them right against the garage wall. Excellent value and USA made.
