This product worked as advertised. Once I had the yak on top of the car it seemed very secure. I probably wouldn't take it one the freeway but hey, maybe. I ended up buying a good yakima rack though, because getting a sit-on-top kayak on your roof single handedly without good bars and rollers is going to break you, your yak, or your car eventually.
