This hat is well made, soft, and warm. Our daughter has worn it every day since Christmas and it's very difficult to get her to wear hats regularly. She also won't wear anything she finds scratchy or annoying (she's very sensitive to tags and things on clothes). The construction is much better than I expected considering the price. I'm a nut about quality.
Size wise she does have a small head for her age. I don't think this would fit over a 9yr old with a normal head size.

I got one for myself, and I'm a senior citizen. It fits well, flatters my face, keeps me warm and snug, and it amuses me no end. I can tilt the hat over my forehead so people can easily see it's a panda, but I can still see out from under it. The string parts you tie are short but the tassles come right under my chin and keep me warm there too. I did get mine somewhere else, but it looks like the same hat. I tried on hats of several different animals before choosing the panda; the wolf one seemed smaller than the others, but the rest all fit me.
