I've been looking for a copy of this book for YEARS! When I was five or six, this was the first book I ever read cover to cover, and it hooked me on Science Fiction for the rest of my life. I remember a passage still, with Sprockets and Rivets floating in space and The younger robot spouting doggerel poetry with a loose tongue screw. "Two little robots lotht is spathe, flying along at an awful pathe, if no-one findth the poor little dearth, where will they be in a hundred yearth!" I'm 35 now, and I haven't seen a copy of this book in at least 30 years old now, and I can still remember that poem, I think that says a lot right there!

This is cute, whimsical book about Sprockets, a little Robot, who gets a "brother" who unfortunately has a screw loose.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book I had as a child, December 13, 2000

I have been looking for this book for years I wish to read it to my children when I have some. It is a great story about a scientist, his children and two robots going to mars. I remember they go under ground in the planet and eat plapples. That would be a plum and an apple mix. I havent read this book in 20 years and still I can remember the whole story. I hope I will find this book someday.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superb for young reader., January 10, 1999

This review is from: Rivets and Sprockets (Hardcover)
One of the first books I ever read. I have looked for it many times since but never found it. (25+ years) The imagination , humor and easy reading were a joy. The high point is each time the one robot gets a loose screw and attempts to talk. Trying to read the result makes you read on to find the next occurence.
