Book Description

March 1, 2000
A must for any Disney-buff, this is a 19,000-entry, 376-page dictionary of Disney Trivia, encompassing EVERYTHING Disney. Comprised of the 26 time-honored "A to Z" chapters, the book also includes chapters on "Numbers," "Quotes," "Signs," "Dates," "Telephone Numbers," and "References." The author, a part-time Walt Disney World physician, wanted a trivia book--couldn't find what he wanted--so he started to write. Now, six years later, this 8 1/2 x 11" soft-cover volume is the first of many planned future editions. "Who can keep up with the creativity of Disney?" asks the author, Tony Rizzo.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

In 1992, on a vacation to Walt Disney World, I stopped into the bookstore on Mainstreet, USA and asked for a trivia book. They had none. I searched every other source, including calling Dave Smith, the Disney Archivist. What I was looking for did not exist. So I started to write. Six years and 19,000 entries later, this dictionary is ready. You can look up any word (shoe, moon, etc), not just a Disney word, and find out how it is used in Disney's context. Even at 19,000 entries, I feel I have only scratched the surface of the enormous amount of information that is Disney. And, as Disney is ever-changing, there will never be an end to new information for future editions. Who can keep up with the creative output of Disney?

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Disney Trivia Nuts, June 2, 2000
This review is from: Rizzo's Unofficial Dictionary of the Disney Language (Paperback)
If you ever wanted to know anything about terms used by the cast members at the DisneyWorld, this is the book. It contains references to many phrases used everyday in other aspects of life but recounts how they specifically relate to Disney. Would make a great gift for the Disney freak in your life, or would look good on your coffee table as well. Could use it at work or home to astound your friends with little known facts about Disney. A must book for those collectors of Disney memorabilia.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth the $, October 31, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Rizzo's Unofficial Dictionary of the Disney Language (Paperback)
The book is cheaply made and overpriced -- the pages didn't line up with each other on the copy I bought, and the cover was falling off. The content is interesting, but not worth the price and the shoddy workmanship.
