Bringing back the memories..., August 13, 2006
This review is from: Rnr Memorabilia (Audio CD)
Man, listening to this CD really brought back some memories. This is pretty comprehensive for a compilation. I wish they would re-release most of the original stuff like the suicide twins and solo projects. My original Twins cassette tape has long since disappeared and I thought I may never find their material again.
The Bombz selections are choice and the Shooting Gallery material actually sounded better than it did way back when. But Andy McCoy's solo material is why I bought this item and I was far from disappointed. Any fan will dig this purchase. Highly Recommended.

Great guitarist but..., July 8, 2006
This review is from: Rnr Memorabilia (Audio CD)
Okay, the songs on this collection fairly rock and Andy McCoy is a fine guitarist and writer. However, you only have to listen to a few tracks before you start to fully appreciate Michael Monroe's Hanoi Rocks vocal stylings.
The fact of the matter is, Andy McCoy CANNOT SING!
Not a note.
Vocal rubbish. Take a pass on this one and invest in Hanoi Rocks albums. You'll be the better for it.

Long live Andy!, January 28, 2006
This review is from: Rnr Memorabilia (Audio CD)
It wasn't too long ago that I discovered Hanoi Rocks, and from there Andy McCoy....I wish it had been sooner, but I'm ecstatic I did all the same! That being said, this double cd featuring Andy's side projects and solo work is stunningly glorious! I highly, sincerely recommend it to anyone appreciative of Hanoi's work, Andy's, or any open minded music afficionado looking for an ecclectic showcasing from an indescribably diverse and endlessly interesting musician. This set contains songs Andy performed as a teenager with "Briard", before joining Hanoi Rocks. It also holds tunes from his side projects "The Cherry Bombz", "Suicide Twins", "Shooting Gallery" and "Briard Revisited". There are quite a few tracks from his solo albums "Too Much Ain't Enough", "Building On Tradition" and from "The Real McCoy" soundtrack. Andy's wife Angela contributes backing vocals and synthesizers on the tracks from Briard Revisited, Building On Tradition and The Real McCoy. These songs span numerous different eras and were created with multiple line ups/projects, so there's quite a plethora of vibes and styles presented through out this compilation, and from what I've gathered thus far about Andy McCoy, such a multilayered, brilliant, colorful jumbling is quite a just and fitting representation of him! I love the entirety of this collection immensely, but I must say the effervescent, haunting yet uplifting, surreal beauty of Suicide Twins' tracks (ESPECIALLY "Sweet Pretending"), are definitely my favorites. Another evocative but gorgeous, interesting song is Andy's duet with Dave Lindholm "Anna Kitaran Laulaa". If you can obtain this lovely gem from a reputable merchant here or elsewhere, it's enormously advisable that you hop to it! You won't regret the purchase of this album for a microsecond! Kiitos, Andy! =)
