This book is still worth reading 50+ years later, May 26, 2005
John T. Flynn either had a crystal ball, or he knew politics and socialism very well. Though written (I think) in the 1940's this book describes what creeping socialism will do to our economic system, to organized labor, to the federal budget, to education, healthcare, housing, taxation... from all those years ago Flynn warned of and described the US and the world of today with uncanny accuracy. Many people think the country and world have moved in the wrong direction over the past decades, and Flynn saw it all coming. This is not an epic tome, it's a moderately-sized and very engaging book. I would guess that some things Flynn wrote about which have never come to be publicly known, just might have been as accurate as his prediction of what creeping socialism would do - and has done - to the U.S.

The Road Ahead - America's Creeping Revolution by J.T. Flynn, July 20, 2010
I picked up a copy of this book at random in a used book store 2 years ago and have since ordered at least 10 copies for friends and family to read and they, in turn, have ordered more to share with their circle of friends/family. This book was written in 1945 and if one did not know that, might think it was written in the past 2 years. It speaks of the insidious slide into socialism, how it occurs, and outcomes. It documents the path of England's move to socialism and the outcomes there. It is a small book, and very readable. I highly recommend it.

Powerful Book, August 14, 2009
This review is from: The Road Ahead: America's Creeping Revolution (Hardcover)
This is an extremely dark story. If you're a depressed person, don't read it! My son read this book and was impressed by it, and because of this, I read it. Though I found the story disturbing and scary, it is well written and hard to put down. At the end, I just thought, "Whoa". A good, intense book, certainly thought provoking.
